6:00 PM ET: Colorado St. @ BYU -17 (-110)
After looking at this game from several angles, I decided that now is the time to jump on board before the line goes any higher.
BYU has a rebound game after a disappointing performance last week against Florida St. that resulted in a 54-21 loss. Not to mention, BYU will be at home against a conference rival.
Other than the final score, the only real negative that I took from last week’s game was that FSU was able to move the ball with much success. However, the game was much closer than the final tally indicated. FSU took the opening KO and drove the field for a legit TD. BYU was on their way to countering the punch until they lost a fumble at the FSU 18 yd. line. FSU then drove for another TD, and BYU found themselves in a 13-0 hole. FSU later went up 20-7 set up by another big play in a 47 yd. rush After trading TDs with FSU scoring right before halftime (27-14), BYU lost another fumble on the ensuing KO, leading to another 3 for FSU (30-14 HT)
Even still, BYU was driving to start the 2H until FSU returned an interception for a TD to blow it open.
BYU had 2 lost fumbles and 3 interceptions, while FSU had 0 turnovers. It’s tough to be in the ballgame when that happens, even though they had 473 yards of total offense.
Colorado St. is off to a 3-0 start, which I certainly believe should surprise us all. They beat a Colorado team as an 11 pt. road dog, but we now know that Colorado is unbelievably bad. They followed that W up with a 24-23 win over Weber St. at home, and they beat a decent Nevada team last weekend.
Last weekend against Nevada, they won by 15 points, with one of their TDs coming off a trick play, as the running back logged a 25 yd TD pass. Nevada also had 2 interceptions and 3 lost fumbles in that game. CSU is far from a juggernaut as a 3-0 team, and they are in a little over their heads. They put up 35 points last week, but Stucker was only 10-20 for 165 yards.
Colorado St. is simply outmatched in this game, and it has blowout city written all over it.
