Any chance we're saving any $ with this shutdown? Probably not, but it's always good to dream. Trump won on his America first/Anti-illegal immigration position. The Dems continue to run against that, good luck to them... NO Wall/NO end to chain migration/NO U.S. Lottery then NO DREAMER ACT. No complaints with that whatsoever. I hear the guy on Diehard say "Shut it down, Shut it down now"...
I'll imagine U.S. citizen low wage earners don't have a problem with this either.

Democrats voted against funding the government...they own their vote and own their tactic....their shutdown strategy ensures Democrats will own it....Hence the 'Schumer Shutdown"
Schumer and the Democrats played politics with DACA..
Besides,Friday was the deadline to keep the government open,not the deadline for a DACA fix..

Everything could have been fixed last week when trump asked for a bipartisan agreement . He said bring it to me and I will sign it. They did , he didn't . trump shut down no one else is at fault slim. he is the leader it's all on him. By the way slim, Claire McCaskill brought legislation to pay the military during the shut down last night before they adjornment and McConnell objected . Who through the military under the bus?

Schumer insisted that he would not support any legislation at all for the American
people... no matter how noncontroversial or how bipartisan...unless we
pass a bill on illegal immigration first...
If, that means shutting down funding for veterans and military families.. over for people who came to the United States illegally.............so be it.
DACA should have its own bill and not be lumped in with this funding bill...

Your link is from last year Sept 2017 not exactly recent...the Fox poll claims a large majorities of voters favor granting work permits or citizenship to illegal immigrants .....it does not say,,, that those same Americans think that allowing people brought to the US illegally as children to stay.. is more important than passing a Government funding bill ...and that's the point.
