Leon Draisaitl Odds and Props: Oilers' Star Blows One by Bob

Leon Draisaitl is one of the best scorers in the league but is stuck in a drought. Our NHL picks expect him to end that drought tonight and get lots of pucks on net trying.

Leon Draisaitl has been held without a point through the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final, and the Edmonton Oilers are down 0-2 to the Florida Panthers with the series heading north to Rogers Place.

Draisaitl has six goals and eight assists across nine postseason home games, and if Edmonton is going to turn this series around, the German center will need to flip the offensive script.

Here are my free NHL picks for Draisaitl in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on June 13.

Leon Draisaitl best bets

Anytime goalscorer (+140)

It’s been four games since Leon Draisaitl found the back of the net, and he’s also only scored twice with an 8.3% shooting percentage across the past 11 games.

He’s generated three expected goals and eight high-danger scoring chances during the mini slump, so I’m anticipating statistical correction kicking in tonight.

Even with his recent dip in goals, Draisaitl still sports a career SH% of 19.4% in the playoffs. He’s also scored 10 goals through 12 home games in the past two postseasons.

Additionally, Sergei Bobrovsky is rolling along an unsustainably hot stretch with a .980 SV%, 1.77 goals saved above average per 60 minutes, and just a single goal against to start this series.

I expect him to continue playing well, but the Edmonton Oilers on home ice also have a different offense jumping the boards with an average of 4.0 goals per game.

Over 2.5 shots (-130)

With five attempts in Game 2, the opportunities were there for Draisaitl to reach this three-shot benchmark, and I’m anticipating returning home will also help him in the shots column.

He has 33 shots through nine postseason contests and 3.67 per game at Rogers Place, compared to just 24 shots and 2.66 per contest on the highway.

Draisaitl has recorded three or more shots in 24 of 32 playoff games dating back to last year, and I value his role as a go-to shooter on the No. 1 power-play unit.

Draisaitl also has an elite 63.6 Corsi For percentage and 60.0% shot share at 5-on-5 through the first two games of this series.
