Chicago may be entering this contest in poor form, but my Rangers vs. Blackhawks predictions are calling for a change of momentum.

Read on for my NHL picks for Wednesday, December 10.

Rangers vs Blackhawks prediction

Rangers vs Blackhawks Best bet: Blackhawks moneyline (+115)

The Chicago Blackhawks are coming off their lowest point of the campaign, losing two straight games by six goals over the weekend in California. However, there are a few reasons to buy low on this team in this matchup.

First, the New York Rangers are also a poor team. This season, the Rangers rank 25th in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and 23rd in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).

Second, the Hawks are going to come out firing after the worst performance the organization has had in the past five years.

They have also made some roster adjustments in preparation for this matchup, sending down the struggling Sam Rinzel and recalling some forward help in Dominic Toninato.

Lastly, Chicago has one of the best netminders in the league in Spencer Knight. Among the 28 goaltenders to play at least 15 games this season, Knight ranks fourth in goals saved above expected per 60 minutes (GSAx/60).

Meanwhile, New York’s Igor Shesterkin ranks ninth in the same category.

The Hawks can steal this game even if it comes down to the goaltending, making +115 a number worth taking.

Rangers vs Blackhawks same-game parlay

If Chicago is to win this game, it will need some goal production. There may not be a better candidate than Tyler Bertuzzi, who leads the entire league in high-danger goals this year with his net-front role.

Meanwhile, Connor Bedard continues to drive play for this team and has assisted on four of Bertuzzi’s past five goals.
