Our best NHL player props for Wednesday, January 7

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Logan Thompson Over 22.5 saves

-120 at BET99

I expect Washington Capitals No. 1 goalie Logan Thompson to see enough rubber to make 23 or more saves Tuesday.

The Dallas Stars are deep and talented, and they are looking to snap a six-game losing streak. Thompson has also been excellent all season, especially on home ice with a .915 save percentage and 2.18 GAA.

Plus, Washington has allowed the most shots per game out of the holiday break, including a monster 45 to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday.

Prop #2: Ryan Greene Over 1.5 shots on goal

+105 at BET99

Chicago Blackhawks rookie Ryan Greene is skating in a top-line role and has recorded two or more shots in four consecutive games for 12 total on 22 attempts. He’s posted a solid 55.4 Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 and also recorded 2.2 shots per game last season with Boston University.

This isn’t a daunting matchup, either.

The St. Louis Blues rank 28th in CF% at 5-on-5 for the year and have allowed the fourth-most shots per game (32.0) through five games out of the holiday break.

Prop #3: Brandt Clarke Over 1.5 shots on goal

-135 at BET99

Los Angeles Kings blueliner Brandt Clarke has recorded two or more shots in five of his past eight games, and he’s taken 65.7% of his 5-on-5 faceoffs in the offensive zone while posting a rock-solid 53.5 Corsi For percentage and 58.8% shot share during the stretch.

Of course, the San Jose Sharks are tied for the most shots per game allowed, in addition to surrendering the second-most attempts per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, and are playing for the second consecutive night.
