Our best NHL player props for Wednesday, January 21
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Nathan MacKinnon Over 1.5 points
Nathan MacKinnon continues to dominate this season and remains a contender for the Hart Trophy alongside Connor McDavid. The Colorado Avalanche superstar has already notched 85 points, and that includes 15 in January.
MacKinnon has cashed the Over in points in three of his last six games. He finished with three points on Monday in a victory over the Washington Capitals, and the veteran is averaging 1.80 points per contest in 2025-26.
The Avs face the Anaheim Ducks this evening, and MacKinnon posted three points against them earlier in the campaign.

Prop #2: Clayton Keller Over 0.5 assists
Clayton Keller is the main man for the Utah Mammoth, leading the team in points (46) and assists (33).
He’s a brilliant playmaker, and those abilities have been on full display lately. The 27-year-old has cashed the Over in helpers in five of his last six appearances.
In fact, during that span, Keller has registered 10 assists. He played a pivotal role in Saturday’s win against the Seattle Kraken, setting up a pair of goals. Keller and the Mammoth are at home tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers, and that’s good news for the center.
In 23 contests at the Delta Center this season, Keller has collected 23 helpers. He’ll continue his hot streak.

Prop #3: Jakob Chychrun anytime goal
Jakob Chychrun is having a nice campaign for the Washington Capitals, netting 18 goals and potting 18 assists. He’s playing with a lot of confidence at the moment, scoring three goals across his last two outings.
While both of those games ended in losses, they weren’t against easy opponents. Chychrun had a pair of goals against the Florida Panthers before also finding the back of the net against the Colorado Avalanche.
While Chychrun has scored just five of his goals on the road, he did score against the Vancouver Canucks earlier this season, and the Caps visit them at Rogers Arena tonight.
