Our best NHL player props for Tuesday, October 21
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: William Nylander Over 0.5 assists
William Nylander is off to a rocking start in 2025-26. He leads the Toronto Maple Leafs offensively, scoring twice and tallying nine helpers in just six games. The Swede has cashed the Over in assists in three consecutive outings, tallying six helpers during that span.
While the goals aren’t coming at a high rate yet, Nylander is finding other ways to thrive and help this team. He’s one of the top playmakers in the league at the moment, and as you can see by his last three contests, the veteran is hot.
The Leafs face the New Jersey Devils tonight, and Nylander had two goals and an assist against them last season across two meetings.

Prop #2: Leon Draisaitl Under 2.5 shots on goal
It’s been a bit of a slow start for one of the best players around, at least to his standards. Leon Draisaitl has four goals and one assist in six contests. Not terrible, but he is struggling to get pucks on net, cashing the Under in SOG in all but one game.
Draisaitl had just one shot on goal in a loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, and he also registered a mere two shots on net before that against the Devils. Overall, Draisaitl has only 14 SOG in six games.
The Ottawa Senators are allowing the 13th-fewest shots on goal in the NHL, and that’s who the Edmonton Oilers take on this evening. Could he score or tally an assist? Absolutely. But, I’m not expecting a ton of chances for Draisaitl.

Prop #3: Shane Pinto anytime goal
Shane Pinto is tied for first in scoring with seven goals. At this rate, he’s well on his way to surpassing last year’s career-high of 21 and has found the back of the net in three consecutive appearances.
The 24-year-old is up against an Oilers team that has been thriving defensively, despite struggles on the other side of the ice. But Pinto is hot, and he’s generating a ton of opportunities.
I’ll take him to score an eighth at great plus-money value.
