A pair of rolling Western Conference teams meet in Music City tonight, with the Edmonton Oilers visiting the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena.

My top Oilers vs. Predators predictions and NHL picks expect Edmonton superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to be too much for Nashville to handle tonight.

Oilers vs Predators prediction

Oilers vs Predators best bet: Oilers moneyline (-120)

The Edmonton Oilers are churning along a 12-5-2 heater with superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl putting the league on notice.

Make no mistake, the Nashville Predators are also rolling nicely with an active 8-4 record, but the Preds have scored the fewest goals per 60 minutes with the lowest team shooting percentage at 5-on-5 during the stretch.

It’s been an unsustainable run for Nashville, and Edmonton has the superior star power with No. 97 and No. 29 combining for a monster 28 goals and 77 points during the highlighted 19-game clinic.

With the Nashville offense lacking the finishing touch, I’m anticipating Edmonton scoring one too many times for the Preds to eke out another win tonight.

Oilers vs Predators same-game parlay

A key reason for Nashville's success has been solid defense and strong goaltending, and with Edmonton playing its second road game in consecutive nights, I’m not anticipating the Oil filling the net. The Preds have surrendered the eighth-fewest goals per 60 at 5-on-5, and No. 1 Juuse Saros sports a high-end .919 SV% at home during the highlighted 12-game span.

The final leg of this SGP turns to Edmonton winger Zach Hyman, and he’s recorded three or more shots in 10 of his past 13 games for 46 total on 71 attempts. Hyman is jumping the boards consistently with McDavid, including on the No. 1 power-play unit, and the duo has a dominant 58.3 Corsi For percentage and 59.6% shot share at 5-on-5 over the 13-game shooting surge from Hyman.
