Brock Boeser is one of the most productive offensive players on the Vancouver Canucks roster, especially when Conor Garland is in the lineup.

With Garland slated to return tonight, my Mammoth vs. Canucks predictions expect Boeser to capitalize on a favorable matchup against a Utah Mammoth team struggling to stay out of the box or get stops.

Let’s get into my NHL picks for Friday, December 5.

Mammoth vs Canucks prediction

Mammoth vs Canucks Best bet: Brock Boeser Over 0.5 points (-150)

Brock Boeser is off to a solid offensive start with 16 points through 25 games, tying him for 3rd on the Vancouver Canucks.

His production should spike further with the expected return of Conor Garland, who practiced on his line Thursday.

Boeser hit the scoresheet in only one of six games without Garland. That’s a far cry from the 58% rate he’s posted with Garland in the lineup.

Boeser has points in 11 of 19 games with Garland and in four of six following two days' rest, including against powerhouse teams like the Stars and Hurricanes.

Garland has clearly made an impact, elevating Boeser and the Canucks' offense as a whole. That duo has played very well together at 5-on-5, controlling better than 65% of the expected goals.

They should cause problems for the Utah Mammoth, who rank 26th in team save percentage and have won just six times in 17 tries on the road this season.

Fueling the fire is Utah’s tendency to take penalties. They’ve spent the 9th most time short-handed over the last 10, which could lead to plenty of PP time for Boeser to create offense.

Mammoth vs Canucks same-game parlay

Elias Pettersson ranks 2nd on the Canucks in assists, trailing superstar defenseman Quinn Hughes. He does a lot of the facilitating, particularly on the man advantage, where he shares the ice with Boeser.

Quinn Hughes leads the Canucks in shot attempts. The only player in the same ballpark (Evander Kane) may not dress, which could lead to even more shots for Hughes.

Given how much Hughes plays, rest really seems to benefit him. He has taken 8.3 attempts per game following two days off, compared to a season average of 7.4.

Mammoth vs Canucks SGP

  • Brock Boeser Over 0.5 points
  • Elias Pettersson Over 0.5 assists
  • Quinn Hughes Over 2.5 shots
