The Winnipeg Jets snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 road win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, and they’re back in action tonight with a date against the New Jersey Devils.

New Jersey is missing star Jack Hughes (shoulder) and go-to defensemen Dougie Hamilton (lower body), while Winnipeg has No. 1 goalie Connor Hellebuyck returning to the crease after backup Eric Comrie played last night.

My top Jets vs. Devils predictions expect Winnipeg's star netminder to shine inside the Prudential Center. Read more in my NHL picks for Friday, March 7.

Jets vs Devils prediction

My Jets pick
Connor Hellebuyck Over 24.5 saves (-131 at Pinnacle)

My Jets analysis
It’s been a banner season for Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck, and he’s running away from the pack in the Vezina Trophy odds.

He’s pacing the league with a .926 SV%, 2.01 GAA, and 32.6 goals saved above average. Add an NHL-high 11.2 goalie point share through his four starts out of the 4 Nations Face-Off, and I anticipate him turning in another tidy showing tonight.

The New Jersey Devils remain a solid possession club, sporting a sixth-ranked 53.2 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five at the Prudential Center. Additionally, as good as Winnipeg has been this season, the Jets have a middling 48.8 CF% at 5-on-5 while allowing 28.7 shots per game on the highway.

With Winnipeg playing the second leg of a back-to-back road set and third in four nights on the highway, I’m anticipating New Jersey pressing to put pucks on the net early and often, especially to help mitigate the absences of Jack Hughes and Dougie Hamilton.

Jets vs Devils odds analysis

There has been consistent back-and-forth action on this moneyline at Pinnacle, but it hasn’t resulted in any meaningful adjustments to the odds. Winnipeg opened as a -112 favorite, and the Jets are trading at -114 as of Friday afternoon.

This total has seen huge action to the Under, which aligns with the highlighted New Jersey injuries. Pinnacle opened with the Under 5.5 trading at -115, and it’s moved all the way to -139 as of Friday afternoon. It’s also worth noting that the Devils have hit the Under in 47 of their last 81 contests (+12.90 Units / 15% ROI).
