The Winnipeg Jets will look to return to the win column by topping the St. Louis Blues at the Enterprise Center on Wednesday, December 17.

My Jets vs. Blues predictions and NHL picks call for Winnipeg to take down its Central Division rival with ease tonight.

Jets vs Blues prediction

Jets vs Blues best bet: Jets moneyline (-145)

This checks out as close to a must-win December game as you’ll find for the Winnipeg Jets

They have the Colorado Avalanche and Utah Mammoth up next before the holiday break, and the St. Louis Blues are riddled with injuries and reeling along a 6-7-4 stretch.

The Blues sport the sixth-worst Corsi For percentage, and the fourth-worst expected goals percentage in the league during the slump, and St. Louis has allowed the most goals per game this season while sporting the fourth-worst 5-on-5 team save percentage.

Of course, St. Louis also ranks 29th in goals per game (2.53), and Winnipeg should have back-to-back Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck between the pipes.

He’s sporting an elite .922 SV% and 2.22 GAA with 106.57 goals saved above expected over the past three seasons, too.

Winnipeg needs to start stringing together wins, and I’m anticipating the veteran core to lead the way to victory with Hellebuyck standing tall in the blue paint.

Jets vs Blues same-game parlay

The Blues and Jets, respectively, rank 28th and 27th in expected goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, and, as noted, St. Louis also ranks 29th in goals per game (2.53).

So, with Hellebuyck dialed in, I’m not anticipating the Blues bringing enough offense to the table to threaten this Under.

Turning to Winnipeg No. 1 defenseman Josh Morrissey, he’s recorded two or more shots in six of his past seven contests and still has positive regression ahead of his shot volume, with his 4.45 shots and 9.44 attempts per 60 minutes well below his 5.29 and 13.31 marks from last year.
