The Los Angeles Rams will look to right the ship in an NFC West bout with the 3-9 Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, December 7.

My early Rams vs. Cardinals predictions and NFL picks expect both teams to put enough points on the board for the total to go Over the number, while Arizona hangs around to cover the spread in Week 14.

Early Rams vs Cardinals spread pick: Cardinals +8.5

In theory, this is a great bounce-back spot for the 9-3 Los Angeles Rams after losing 31-28 on the road to the Carolina Panthers in Week 13.

I’m just not convinced Los Angeles turns it up to cover the number with a second consecutive road game, and this time against a divisional opponent.

The Arizona Cardinals are 4-3 against the spread with Jacoby Brissett behind center, and he’s turning in a career-best run with a 67.5 completion percentage for 7.2 yards per attempt. The journeyman backup also ranks ninth in success rate since taking over starter duties in Week 6, and the Cards have averaged a respectable 23.1 points per game.

I also value the target tree widening for Brissett with wideout Marvin Harrison back in action alongside go-to tight end Trey McBride, in addition to both Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch carving out roles in the passing attack.

Make no mistake, I think the Rams hanging with the best of the best in the standings and across the board statistically is legit.

I also think the Cards can hang at State Farm Stadium on Sunday afternoon and cover the number.

Early Rams vs Cardinals total pick: Over 48.5

The Rams have been a defensive darling with the second-fewest points per game, second-lowest EPA per play allowed, and the fifth-best defensive DVOA.

Still, Los Angeles has allowed 57 points across its past two road games, and I think Brissett can lead the Arizona offense to enough points to push this total Over the number.

I’m anticipating the Rams doing enough offensive damage of their own, too.

Los Angeles is sixth in points per game (27.8) while pacing the NFL in offensive DVOA and success rate, after all.
