The Broncos head to SoFi Stadium as 3.5-point favorites, but injuries on both sidelines and the Chargers’ 0-4 desperation create intriguing early value on the spread and total.

Denver (2-2) visits winless Los Angeles (0-4) on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 4:05 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium, with the Broncos as the -3.5 favorites. My Broncos vs. Chargers predictions target a divisional matchup in which both teams are 3-1 to the Under.

It's all part of our NFL picks for Week 5.

Early Broncos vs Chargers spread pick: Chargers +3.5

Kalshi probability: 54%

I'm only leaning toward the Los Angeles Chargers +3.5, down to +3, until we see their final injury report. Chargers WR Ladd McConkey and both starting tackles, Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, exited Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. If all three are ruled out for Week 5, we could get a much better number on the Chargers.

But the Denver Broncos are fugazi and come with their own injury concerns. Denver is scoring the fewest first-half points per game (3.3), and Pro Football Focus ranks QB Bo Nix 35th out of 38 qualifying quarterbacks. Broncos starting cornerbacks Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss were injured in their 24-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday, too.

Early Broncos vs Chargers total pick: Over 42.5

Kalshi probability: 51%

I'd rather trade the Over on 42.5, down to 41.5, because I'm expecting this to be a rare situation when the public backs the Under. The market has already steamed the total down from the 43.5 opening number, and for good reason. Both teams are 3-1 to the Under this season.

However, the Chargers should enjoy success running the ball this week since Denver's defense is 27th in yards per rush allowed. If Chargers QB Justin Herbert can receive some help from his ground game, the team's pass-catchers should get open against the Broncos' banged-up secondary.

Finally, the Chargers have allowed 24-plus points in every game this season, and I have Denver winning 24-22.
