Bears vs Raiders Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Week 4

With Caleb Williams coming off his best outing of the season and Chicago’s defense tightening up in the red zone, Neil Parker is bullish on the Bears getting the job done in Sin City.

The Chicago Bears will look to make it two wins in a row as they visit the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4.

Chicago was impressive in its Week 3 win, and I’m taking it to cover the spread again in my Bears vs. Raiders predictions.

Let’s take an early look at this matchup of 1-2 teams in my free NFL picks for Sunday, September 28.

Bears vs Raiders predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Bears vs Raiders spread pick: Bears -1.5

After suffering a fourth-quarter collapse in Week 1 and being outclassed by the Lions in Week 2, the Chicago Bears finally put together a complete game last weekend, defeating the Cowboys 31-14.

Caleb Williams threw for four touchdowns, and the Chicago defense picked off three passes as the Bears dominated the action, especially in the second half. Williams has been largely excellent in his sophomore campaign so far, throwing for seven touchdowns with just one interception.

If the Bears can muster another decent showing on defense, that could be enough to stymie the Las Vegas Raiders, as Geno Smith & Co. are averaging only 17.7 points per game so far in 2025. Smith has thrown four interceptions already, while rookie running back Ashton Jeanty is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry.

The Raiders' lone win — a Week 1 victory on the road over the New England Patriots — is looking less impressive by the week, while the Bears showed real potential in Week 3.

I’m taking Chicago to cover.

Early Bears vs Raiders total pick: Over 47.5

The Raiders were lit up by the Washington Commanders in Week 3, allowing 41 points and 400 total yards of offense in their loss.

While Las Vegas looked better on defense against its first two opponents, its overall numbers don’t look great. Opponents are averaging 351 yards per game against the Raiders, and are moving the ball to the tune of 6.2 yards per play — so it’s no surprise that someone finally turned that into points.

Chicago is poised to take advantage, as it's averaging 25.3 ppg so far on the season. The biggest problem for the Bears has been keeping their opponents in check. The Cowboys' offense grinded to a halt in the second half on Sunday, but Chicago still has defensive questions, having allowed 27 points to the Vikings and 52 to the Lions.

The real question is whether that matters against a Raiders offense that only showed life against Washington once the game was already out of hand. Las Vegas sports only five offensive touchdowns through its first three games, which is the kind of number that will always spook Over bettors.

Still, with two defenses struggling to this extent, I think points are inevitable. The Over is my play here as long as the total stays below 49 points.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
