UCLA vs USC Prediction, Picks & Odds for November 29 — College Football Week 14

USC will run through UCLA like a hot knife through butter. The Bruins defense can't stop the run, which will benefit RB King Miller, while QB Jayden Maiava picks apart the secondary.

It’s rivalry time in Los Angeles as the UCLA Bruins face the USC Trojans at the LA Memorial Coliseum for the regular season finale.

USC’s offense has been clicking on all cylinders, and Lincoln Riley will aim for an exclamation mark finish against a miserable UCLA defense.

See why I’m taking the Trojans’ team total Over with my USC vs. UCLA predictions and college football picks for Saturday, November 29.

UCLA vs USC prediction

UCLA vs USC best bet: USC team total Over 40.5 (-130)

There’s bad, and then there’s the UCLA Bruins defense that's been trotting out to the field over the last month. The Bruins have given up at least 48 points in three of their last four games, with the lone exception coming against a backup quarterback who still averaged 13.7 yards per attempt.

The Bruins can’t defend the rush whatsoever, allowing 210+ rushing yards in three of their last four games while ranking 135th in rushing success rate allowed.

The USC Trojans should have no trouble finding consistent running lanes for King Miller, and the offensive line injuries are mitigated in a matchup with UCLA’s porous defensive front (131st in front seven havoc, 132nd in stuff rate).

Quarterback Jayden Maiava will pick apart a Bruins secondary that has been a strength at points this season but is now without lockdown corner Rodrick Pleasant. Maiava’s strong season has paved the way for the Trojans to rank eighth in EPA per play while averaging a robust 479.2 yards per game and 7.3 yards per play. Look for a strong finish to an impressive year for USC’s offense.

UCLA vs USC same-game parlay

Nico Iamaleava’s status is uncertain after sitting out the Ohio State game with a concussion and then leaving the Washington game early with neck spasms. The offense has looked lost without him (and with him, at times!), failing to crack 225 total yards in three of its last four games.

Don’t expect the Bruins to contribute to the scoring output in this contest, which should keep the game under the total while allowing USC to grab an early lead with little resistance.

Our deep-ball SGP: Maiava Mania

USC’s offense works best when Maiava operates the option read and keeps it for himself when the defensive alignment and reaction calls. UCLA is so bad up front, and so bad against the rush in general, that the openings should appear at some point as Maiava looks for his seventh rushing score of the year.
