The Oregon Ducks may not get the opportunity to defend their Big Ten crown, but the path is there for them to run the table and rejoin the College Football Playoff — a push that begins Friday night as they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers at the Autzen Zoo.

Minnesota vs Oregon prediction
Minnesota vs Oregon best bet: Over 44.5 (-105)
It would take a few crazy results for the Oregon Ducks to return to the Big Ten Championship Game this season. But even so, the path to return to the College Football Playoff is clear. Win out and the Ducks will have a very good shot to host an opening-round playoff game.
This week’s matchup against the visiting Minnesota Golden Gophers doesn’t look too stressful on paper. Oregon is a massive 25.5-point favorite, but the Ducks must be prepared to impress the CFP committee with a strong showing on Friday night.
Oregon has won three in a row since its upset loss to Indiana, thanks to its elite running game. The trio of Noah Whittington, Dierre Hill Jr, and Jordon Davison have the Ducks leading the nation in offensive success rate on rushes and EPA per rush. I’m betting Oregon leans on that ground game in this one.
Minnesota enters this game with a solid 6-3 record, which includes a win over Nebraska and has been powered mostly by a strong defense. But the Golden Gophers have struggled in their biggest games. They gave up 41 points to Iowa, and 42 points to Ohio State. Both of those games were also on the road.
And you can run on the Gophers, who rank 81st in success rate vs. the rush and 63rd in opponent EPA per rush.
Oregon’s run game is explosive enough for the Ducks to also put up a 40-burger in this game. While Minnesota’s offense should be able to put up at least one score to send this Over what is a relatively low total.
Minnesota vs Oregon same-game parlay
Well, we spoke about the Ducks’ elite ground game so, let’s put our money where our mouth is by taking both Noah Whittingham and Jordon Davison to go Over their rushing yard props.
Whittingham is the veteran more explosive back of this dynamic duo. He has carried the ball 42 times for 340 yards over the last three games. That’s 8.1 yards per carry and he has rushed for at least 97 in each of those games.
Davison on the other hand, is a bruising freshman who has rumbled over opponents this season. He’s gone for 313 yards on 36 attempts over his last four games. Davison has topped 52 yards in all four games.
Whittingham Over 80.5 yards and Davison Over 51.5 yards both look like great bets in this matchup.

Minnesota vs Oregon game predictions
Minnesota vs Oregon moneyline prediction
Yes. Oregon will win the game in which it is a 25.5-point home favorite. The Ducks elite running game and strong defense will be too much for Minnesota in this matchup.
Minnesota vs Oregon spread prediction
The spread in this matchup feels about right, but I would lean toward the Ducks. Oregon won't change its game plan no matter the score. Minnesota also lost its two toughest games by 38 and 39 points.
Minnesota vs Oregon Over/Under prediction
I'm on the Over here. Oregon should put up points with its explosive running game, and will look to impress the CFP committee with a strong performance. If Minnesota can score seven-to-10 points this one should go Over.
