It’s time for the first round of the College Football Playoff. The first matchup on Saturday featured the No. 7 seed Texas A&M Aggies hosting the No. 10 seed Miami Hurricanes.
If you’re looking to play some player props for this marquee matchup, look no further.

KC Conception Over 58.5 receiving yards
For much of the year, the attention has gone to wideouts KC Concepcion and Mario Craver when discussing this Texas A&M Aggies passing game.
Although Ashton Bethel-Roman has emerged across the last five games with 277 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions, the redshirt freshman left the Texas game injured and was viewed with a notable limp in practice this week.
The onus should be on Concepcion and Craver this week, with a special emphasis on the latter. The NC State transfer leads the Aggies in targets (93), receptions (57), receiving yards (886), and touchdowns (9). He’s pushed his way up NFL Draft boards with his play, and will hope for another opportunity to make scouts drool in the CFP.
Miami’s defense is sound on a down-to-down basis, but it has a penchant for allowing big plays (101st in explosiveness). Concepcion is used as a field stretcher (12.7 aDOT) and has been remarkably efficient this season (2.71 yards per route run), so he has the talent to win this matchup.
Girard Pringle Over 37.5 rushing yards
True freshman Girard Pringle has had a big say in the Miami Hurricanes' strong close to the season, emerging as the team’s leading rusher. Whether it be due to injury (Mark Fletcher), ineffectiveness (CharMar Brown), or a combination of both (Jordan Lyle), the backfield was depleted, and Pringle answered the call.
Fletcher is now back healthy, but Pringle out-carried the veteran back 24-16 across the last two games of the year. He was also more effective, gaining 131 rushing yards to Fletcher’s 49.
Both backs will be utilized in the CFP, but it’s Pringle’s rushing yardage prop that I’m most interested in. Texas A&M has a noted weakness in allowing big rushes, ranking 105th in EPA per rush and 135th in rushing explosiveness.
Pringle is a burner who once ran a 10.56 in the 100-meter, so he’s the type of back poised to capitalize on this deficiency and break a big run or two.
Mark Fletcher anytime touchdown
Now, let’s talk about the Fletcher side of things.
That’s a continuation of last season when he went dancing nine times, bringing his touchdown count up to 20 in his last 23 games played. That kind of consistency draws my attention.
Many view Texas A&M as a scary matchup due primarily to the defensive front led by Cashius Howell (14 TFLs). The thing is, Miami has a very capable offensive line (second in front seven havoc) and is uniquely poised to offset A&M’s front.
Miami may not light up the scoreboard, but the numbers indicate that the Hurricanes should find some offensive success. If they do score several touchdowns, there’s a pretty good chance that Fletcher gets one of them, so I’m all over this +175 price.
