Several Big 12 matchups will kick off ahead of the weekend, including Kansas State visiting Arizona in hopes of winning its first conference matchup

I’ve analyzed this matchup all week to uncover the best player props worth betting in our college football picks.

Here are our best Kansas State vs. Arizona predictions for Friday, September 12.

Kansas State vs Arizona props for Week 3

  • Kansas State Johnson o227.5 passing yards (-114)
  • Kansas State Johnson o1.5 passing touchdowns (-108)
  • Arizona Craig anytime touchdown (+130)

Prop bet #1: Avery Johnson Over 227.5 passing yards

-114 at FanDuel

Avery Johnson struggled in Kansas State's latest loss to Army, but it’s hard to see him not hitting this total on Friday.

Johnson attempted at least 30 passes and eclipsed 272 passing yards against Iowa State and North Dakota. Then there’s Arizona’s elite offense, which should promote a pass-friendly game script.

Noah Fifita has tossed six passing touchdowns in two games for an Arizona team that’s averaging an impressive 44.0 points per game. There’s no reason the home team can’t put up similar numbers against a Kansas State defense that forked up 35 points to an FCS program just a couple of weeks ago.

A high-scoring contest should promote Johnson letting it fly all game long, and bettors shouldn’t be surprised if his passing total is close to 300 yards by the end of the night.

Prop bet #2: Avery Johnson Over 1.5 passing touchdowns

-108 at FanDuel

Colorado transfer Dylan Edwards was expected to start at running back for Kansas State this season, but he injured his ankle while returning a punt on his first touch of this season. His replacement, Joe Jackson, has not rushed for a TD yet.

Edwards isn’t certain to suit up against Arizona, and it’s become clear that Kansas State’s current backfield rotation isn’t good enough to get the job done — at least not against a defense that’s allowing less than 3.7 rushing yards per attempt this season.

Johnson has thrown for multiple TDs in two of the three games he’s played this season, and he’ll have to make the most of his arm to keep Kansas State competitive.

Prop bet #3: Quincy Craig anytime touchdown

+130 at FanDuel

Quincy Craig and Ismail Madhi have both tallied 15 carries through Arizona’s first two games, but Craig has easily been the more impressive back.

He exploded for 125 yards and a touchdown on seven carries against Hawaii and is averaging a monstrous 10.4 yards per carry this season. Craig has showcased consistency for the entirety of his college career, as he produced more than 5.0 yards per carry for three straight years at Portland State before transferring to Arizona.

I expect him to make the most of his opportunities, with Kendrick Reescano questionable to suit up due to a lower leg injury.
