The Washington Huskies are facing off against the Arizona State Sun Devils in Pac-12 action on Thursday night. Both of these programs are currently mired in mediocrity, with Washington going just 6-9 in conference play and Arizona State not faring much better at 7-8.
However, the Huskies hammered the Sun Devils when these teams previously clashed on January 11, and college basketball odds have them installed as 2.5-point road favorites for the rematch.

It's been a rough season for both of these programs and while there isn't much separating these teams in the standings, the Washington Huskies boast significantly better analytics.
The Huskies are 59th in the KenPom ratings while the Arizona State Sun Devils rank just 122nd. The Huskies also destroyed the Sun Devils in their previous meeting last month when they went on a 30-11 run in the second half to win by a final score of 82-67.
Washington certainly has flaws but it's become clear what its issues are. In the Huskies' last five defeats, they've surrendered an average of 89.0 points per game. However, if teams aren't able to knock down shots against them, they are usually able to rely on their efficient offense to pull away.
That offense is 45th in the country in adjusted efficiency per KenPom while ranking 31st in 2-point percentage (54.7%). They should be able to score inside against an Arizona State side that does a poor job of protecting the rim and ranks 263rd in opponent 2PT% (52.3%).
On the other end of the floor, Arizona doesn't have the shooters to take advantage of Washington's weak defense. The Huskies do a poor job of closing down on perimeter shooters but the Sun Devils are just 222nd in threes made per game (7.0) and sit outside the Top 300 in 3-point percentage (30.4%).
The Sun Devils aren't much better inside the arc ranking 213th with a 49.3 2PT%. They are also one of the worst teams in the nation on the offensive glass, so don't expect many second chances after missing open shots.
It's also worth noting that ASU hasn't benefitted from home-court advantage lately with recent losses at home against Cal, Stanford, and UCLA. Back the Huskies to win and cover this small spread tonight.

Senior Keion Brooks has been Washington's best player, averaging 21.2 ppg on 50/38/79 shooting splits. The Over/Under on his points today is set at 20.5 — a number he has eclipsed in eight of his last 12 games. That includes the previous meeting between these teams when he dropped 22 points.
If there's one ASU player who can take advantage of Washington's poor perimeter defense, it's guard Adam Miller. The Sun Devils guard has scored at least 14 points in his last four games despite facing strong defensive teams like Arizona, Utah, and Colorado on the road during that span.
Miller also knocked down a pair of triples in each of those contests and is coming off a 16-point performance against Arizona, where he tied a season-high with 13 field goal attempts.

The spread hit the board with Washington at -2.5 with the total at 154. The spread hasn't seen any movement, while the total has ticked up by just half a point to 154.5.
The Huskies are coming off an 82-80 loss at home to Cal. They've been the epitome of average over the last month and a half, going 6-6 straight up and against the spread in their last six games.
The Sun Devils picked up back-to-back victories against Utah and Oregon State before crashing back to earth with an ugly 45-point loss to Arizona last weekend. They are just 3-8 SU and 4-7 ATS in their previous 11 contests.
