Florida vs Arizona prediction

Florida vs Arizona best bet: Florida -3.5 (-110)

Sure, I get it — the Florida Gators lost a lot from last year’s National Championship roster. Still, backing Todd Golden’s squad has been a cheat code lately, and I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt until given a good reason to think otherwise.

The Gators can lean on one of the best frontcourts in America. It’s a luxury to have Alex Condon, Thomas Haugh, and Rueben Chinyelu all returning, and their presence gives the Gators a very high floor in 2025.

The guards are new, but there are high hopes for Boogie Fland and Xaivian Lee. If Golden sought them out in the portal, I’m going to trust they’re quality players who are ready to win games at a high level right away.

The Gators have played a ton of neutral-court basketball and have typically shown their best effort in these situations. The Arizona Wildcats have talented freshmen headlined by Koa Peat, but here’s betting they take a while to gel.

This is a high-variance game, as it's the season opener on a neutral court. Given the amount of unknowns, I’m choosing to side with the program that was operating at a higher level than anyone else a year ago.

Florida vs Arizona same-game parlay

Florida will be breaking in new guards, which could lead to some decreased efficiency from the offense to start, and more of an offensive burden will fall upon Alex Condon’s shoulders.

Both teams play at a fast tempo, which is why the total is so high. However, I can’t help but think that a game featuring two teams with great big men will get a bit muddied up.

Thomas Haugh averaged 6.1 rebounds last year despite playing only 24.4 minutes per game, and both averages should go up this season following the departures of Walter Clayton, Alijah Martin, and Will Richard.
