Standing in the Dukes' way is a Fordham Rams program hoping to end its longest losing streak of the season and salvage an extremely disappointing season with an upset victory.

The Fordham Rams have limped along with a 10-16 record. They haven’t won much at all on the road, are only 4-10 at Rose Hill Gymnasium, and now face a Duquesne Dukes program enjoying a four-game winning streak. They hope to avoid being swept in their two-game season series with the Dukes.
For the Rams to defeat the Dukes on Friday night, senior guard Kyle Rose will need to score big.
Unfortunately for the Rams, his shot can be streaky. He’s scored over 10.5 points nine times this season, but he’s also been known to lay some stinkers, such as the six-point output he had on the road against the Dayton Flyers on Tuesday night.
Rose went 2-for-8 from the field and 2-for-8 from downtown while struggling with foul trouble against the Flyers, but I expect a bounce-back night from the Fordham senior guard.
Rose is shooting 39.4% from downtown this season. That number rises to 40.9% when playing at home, and he’s knocked down two or more 3-pointers in six of his last eight tilts and in three of his previous five at Rose Hill.
It won’t be easy for Rose to drain more than 1.5 triples against the Dukes. Duquesne plays legit defense, leads the conference in 3-point FG% allowed, and can be a general pain in the neck for any shooter to deal with.
While the Dukes' defense is legit, they do allow nearly 32% from downtown as the away team. The Fordham senior guard has cleared his treys prop number in four of his last six and has the green light from head coach Keith Urgo to fire away, and he does — he’s attempted four or more triples in five of his last six.
Likely the only way Fordham wins this game is if Rose knocks down more than 1.5 threes.

Fordham guard Japhet Medor has struggled like the rest of the Rams have, but he’s cleared this assists number twice over his last five, and I expect him to facilitate at least one of Rose’s triples.
Duquesne guard Jimmy Clark III is a terrific shooter who’s exceeded his points prop in his last two meetings with the Rams. He’s up against a Fordham defense allowing 75.1 points per game at home this season on 49% from inside and 37.4% from downtown. Fordham is a below-average shooting defense, and Clark should get enough clean looks to clear his points prop tonight.

Duquesne is 3-2 ATS over their last five and 7-3-0 ATS over their last 10. The Dukes are only as low as -3 (-110) favorites because they are 4-4-0 ATS in the visiting teams' jersey.
Fordham is 2-3-0 ATS over their last five and 3-7-0 against the number over their past 10. The picture doesn’t any get prettier at home either — they are 3-11-0 ATS in their own building, and I would need more than the best number available (+3.5) for me to back them.
The total sits firmly across the US betting landscape at 139.5. That’s where it opened, and that’s where it sits.
The Under has been the theme over their last 10 head-to-head encounters — their previous ten meetings were 4-6-0 to the Under, which might be where this one ends on Friday night.
Duquesne is 3-4-1 to the Under over their eight away games this season. The Under is also 2-7-1 over the Dukes' previous 10, and that's because they have the conference's best defense.
Flip that around, and we have a Fordham program with an Over/Under record of 15-11-0 to the Over and 10-4-0 to the Over when playing this season at Rose Hill Gymnasium. That’s because of the Rams’ leaky scoring defense and high turnover rate. I am going to lean Under 139.5 or better.
