Caitlin Clark Record Odds: When Will the Iowa Star Break NCAA Scoring Record?

Records are made to be broken and that's what will happen as Caitlin Clark wraps up her illustrious college basketball career. She sits just 51 points shy of Pete Maravich's all-time scoring record, and the odds suggest she'll break it vs. Ohio State on senior night.

Fifty-one points.

That's all that stands between Caitlin Clark and Pete Maravich's all-time D1 scoring record, and with just two games left in her illustrious college career, the homegrown product seems destined to break the mark.

Clark has been a human highlight reel since she stepped onto the college scene as a freshman in 2020, dropping 27 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in her debut. Four years later, Clark is the women's all-time leading scorer and has her sights set on bigger and better things as she leads Iowa into the latest Women's March Madness odds — and beyond that — when she's selected first overall in the upcoming WNBA Draft.

Breaking records is something Clark seemingly does on a nightly basis, so it's only right we break down the college basketball odds on when Clark will disarm 'Pistol Pete's' 54-year-old scoring record.

Oh, and if you're looking to attend her final regular season game, non-general admission tickets start at $490... which is the most expensive ticket in women's basketball — NCAA or WNBA — on record to date.

Caitlin Clark scoring record favorites

February 28 at Minnesota 4Q/OT (+3,600)

When Caitlin Clark was hunting down Kelsey Plum's women's scoring record, she came up with the goods and dropped 49 on a Michigan team that's had a very respectable year. Could she do the unthinkable and drop 51 points vs. a Minnesota team that has just one win in the last nine games? With Clark, it's possible, but I'll pass on this option.

March 3 vs Ohio State 1Q (+490)

Clark is a walking bucket, averaging 32.1 points per game. If she hit that mark against Minnesota, that would leave her just 19 points shy of the record. In the aforementioned game vs. Michigan, Clark put up 23 first-quarter points, so she's more than capable of breaking the record in the opening quarter vs. Ohio State.

March 3 vs Ohio State 2Q (+220)

This is the betting favorite for a reason. A 19-point quarter is possible, but Ohio State is 24-3 on the year and in first place in the Big Ten. Safe to say they are a legitimate opponent. If we cut Clark's number in half, we'll be left with around 10 points in the second quarter, which is far more likely.

March 3 vs Ohio State 3Q (+220)

I believe this is just far too into the future to consider. Unless Clark has an off night against the Golden Gophers, the numbers suggest any third-quarter points will just add breathing room from the next person good enough to chase her down.

March 3 vs Ohio State 4Q/OT (+380)

I believe the same sentiment holds true here as it does in the third quarter.

My best bet: March 3 vs. Ohio State 2Q (+220 at FanDuel)

Thirty feet. That's the distance Clark let fire from when she broke the women's scoring record. This woman has Steph Curry-like range and is not afraid to pull the trigger. It would only be fitting that she broke the men's record the same way she did the women's.
