All eyes are on the Bay Friday night, where the Golden State Warriors try to close out the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of their Round 1 series.
The Rockets stayed alive with a 131-116 whipping of the Warriors at home in Game 5.
As we shape our NBA picks to fill out a 3-legged same-game parlay, it’s hard not to think the greatest shooter of all-time doesn’t put his stamp on this one.
Check out our Rockets vs. Warriors predictions below.
Rockets vs Warriors SGP - May 2
Stephen Curry Over 4.5 three-point makes
Amen Thompson Under 13.5 points
Dillon Brooks Over 11.5 points
Steph Curry’s thumb doesn’t look normal, and it’s a big topic of discussion after he’s gone for less than 20 points in each of the last two games, including a series-low 13 points in the Game 5 loss.
You’ve also got to credit the hounding Houston Rockets defense, which has held him to 5-for-17 from beyond the arc the last two games, after he lit them on fire in Games 1-3, going 14-for-31, a 45.2% clip.
But in the Golden State Warriors best chance to close this one out, Curry needs to be the main guy, which allows Jimmy Butler to be the supercharged second guy, and everything else falls into place.
Curry has topped his 4.5 make line against Houston in eight of his last 12 games and won’t be shy firing away Friday.
Amen Thompson is coming off a playoff career high 25 points last time out, but he’s got a rough track record in the follow up game.
This season, he’s gone for 20+ points 14 times, and 10 times he’s scored 11 points or less in the next outing.
With his total set at 13.5 points, we’ll stay on this trend.
And we’ll finish with Steph Curry agitator Dillon Brooks, who has a very makeable 11.5 scoring line for Game 6.
For all his work hounding and hacking Curry, he’s been pretty productive, shooting 49% from the field for the series, and just put his series high with 24 points in the last game.
Brooks has now scored 12 or more points in three of his last four in the series, and as one of the few veteran presences in the rotation, should look to score to settle things down in what should be a raucous Chase Center.
