Best NBA Player Props Today for November 5: King of New York

Jalen Brunson's stinker last outing put an end to an insane scoring run, and he'll get back on track against the Timberwolves tonight.

All eyes are on Karl-Anthony Towns in a revenge game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. However, with the T-Wolves focused on stopping their former teammate, my NBA picks are betting on a big game from Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson.

The All-Star point guard headlines my favorite NBA player props for November 5.

Best NBA player props today

Player Pick bet365
Hornets Alex Sarr  Over 7.5 rebounds -130
Hornets Jalen Brunson  Over 27.5 points -115
Hornets Shaedon Sharpe Under 18.5 points -110

Prop #1: Alex Sarr Over 7.5 rebounds

-130 at bet365

Sophomore center Alex Sarr is having a breakout season for the Washington Wizards. The second pick in the 2024 draft, Sarr is averaging 17.3 points and a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game.

The seven-footer has a juicy matchup today against the Boston Celtics, who have a frontcourt anchored by Neemias Queta and Josh Minott. With those scrubs in the post, Boston is 26th in the league in rebound rate while ranking 28th in rebounds allowed per game (62.3).

With Sarr pulling down eight or more boards in six of seven games this season, take the Over 7.5 on his rebounds prop.

Prop #2: Jalen Brunson Over 27.5 points

-115 at bet365

New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson is coming off a rare off-night where he finished with 16 points on 6-for-17 shooting. That said, the All-Star guard had dropped at least 29 points in each of his previous five contests.

Brunson should bounce back against a Minnesota Timberwolves squad that has regressed in their own end, ranking 22nd in the NBA in defensive rating.

They've been especially bad at defending point guards, ranking 27th in the league with 28.4 ppg allowed to the position.

The T-Wolves are 29th in defense against mid-range shots per Shot Quality Bets while ranking 27th in free throws allowed per game. That's bad news against Brunson, who does a great job of scoring from midrange and can get to the line.

Prop #3: Shaedon Sharpe Under 18.5 points

-110 at bet365

Shaedon Sharpe is playing through a calf injury and has struggled with his shooting efficiency, which has led to Deni Avdija and Jerami Grant leap-frogging him as the Portland Trail Blazers' go-to scorers.

Sharpe is averaging 18.1 ppg and has scored fewer than 18.5 points in six of seven games this season. He'll have a tough time eclipsing that mark tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder lead the league in defensive rating while playing at the fifth-slowest pace. They're especially good at locking down guards thanks to a defensive-minded backcourt led by Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
