Best NBA Player Props Today for January 13: No Place Like Holmgren

With Victor Wembanyama in his face, Thunder C Chet Holmgren will be looking to feed his teammates more often, making the Over on 1.5 assists among our favorite NBA player props tonight.

It’s a great night of hoops action with seven games on the NBA slate, including another matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs in the Association’s best budding rivalry.

I’ve got a juicy NBA player prop pick for that matchup, plus a couple of my favorites from across the board. So, check out my NBA picks for Tuesday, January 13.

Prop #1: Dillon Brooks Over 3.5 Rebounds

+105 at bet365

The Miami Heat continue to be one of my favorite fades when it comes to rebounding props. It's not because they’re the worst rebounding team (they’re not great, 19th in rebounding rate), but because they play at such a high pace and take so many shots.

A high shot volume inevitably means a lot of rebounds, and the Heat surrender the third-most per game.

Tonight, the Heat host the Phoenix Suns, and the only question is which opponent to back.

My favorite is Dillon Brooks. The pesky Suns’ defender averages 3.3 rebounds per game this season, but has bumped that number up to 4.6 over his last five games, going Over 3.5 four times during that stretch.

Prop #2: Chet Holmgren Over 1.5 Assists

Even if the results have been one-sided, the NBA’s best rivalry might be between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder

The Spurs have won all three meetings since the NBA Cup semifinals in mid-December, with the Victor Wembanyama-Chet Holmgren battles being the most entertaining aspect.

Wemby is probably the best matchup for Holmgren in the NBA, which means the Thunder big man gets the ball out of his hands more often.

Holmgren averages 1.6 assists per game and has multiple assists in five of his last nine games, and has gone Over 1.5 assists in two of the three recent meetings with the Spurs.

Prop #3: Jalen Johnson Over 1.5 Threes

+115 at bet365

With Trae Young gone, Jalen Johnson is one of the players the Atlanta Hawks will build around.

Johnson is a versatile 6-foot-8 wing, averaging 23.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. Now, he’ll take those impressive stats out to La La Land to take on Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers defense, or lack thereof, is catching up to them. One of their biggest issues is on the perimeter, ranking 26th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage.

That's another area where Johnson is proficient, shooting a solid 37% from 3-point range on 4.5 attempts per game.

It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
