Giannis' length gives him a significant edge on the glass, and he'll pick up double-digit rebounds vs. Sacramento.

It’s a solid eight-pack of games on Sunday in the NBA, with Detroit and OKC — the leading teams of the Eastern and Western Conferences — leading the slate.

That said, my favorite NBA player props come from elsewhere on the slate. Check out my free NBA picks for Sunday, January 4.

Prop #1: Donovan Mitchell Over 28.5 points

-110 at bet365

It’s been a sobering season so far for Cleveland, which has battled injuries and inconsistency while still managing to stay in the Top 6 of the East.

On Sunday, it’ll get a look at the Pistons, who they beat on October 27, the game before they went on a 13-game win streak and vaulted to the top of the Conference.

Donovan Mitchell has ripped off a pair of 30+ point games in wins over the Suns and Nuggets and has dropped 35+ in his last two games against Detroit.

This feels like a Cleveland statement game, with Mitchell wanting to add some punctuation to it.

Prop #2: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 9.5 rebounds

-140 at bet365

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of my favorite looks when the Bucks visit the Kings.

He’s coming off a 30-point, 10-rebound effort against Charlotte, his second straight 30-10 double-double, and SacTown hasn’t been able to stop him on the glass. The Kings are also still without Sabonis.

Antetokounmpo has recorded at least 10 rebounds against the Kings in six straight games and nine of the last 10. Sacramento is Bottom 4 in rebounding in the NBA, so there won’t be much resistance here.

Prop #3: Peyton Watson Under 14.5 points

-115 at bet365

While Nikola Jokic is still out with a knee injury, all signs indicate a couple of reinforcements are on their way for the Denver Nuggets on Sunday in Brooklyn against the Nets.

Guard Christian Braun (ankle) and forward Aaron Gordon (hamstring) are both listed as questionable, but good enough for the books to put odds on them against the Nets.

That will likely cut into the time for guard Peyton Watson, who has been a reliable contributor alongside Jamal Murray while Denver weathered its wave of injuries. His streak of at least 32 minutes played in the last five games should end, along with the scoring production.
