The Orlando Magic can take another step towards the NBA Cup quarterfinals tonight as they face the Philadelphia 76ers — but both teams have big-name talent on the injury report.
Orlando is 2-0 in Cup action but will be without Paolo Banchero again here. Yet my Magic vs. 76ers predictions still favor the visitors, led by a do-it-all outing from Franz Wagner.
Philadelphia’s depth will be tested here, with Joel Embiid listed as questionable and key rotation pieces ruled out. Read more in my NBA picks for this November 25 clash.
Magic vs 76ers prediction
Magic vs 76ers best bet: Franz Wagner Over 35.5 points + assists + rebounds (-115)
The Desmond Bane trade is slowly starting to bear fruit for the Orlando Magic, who’ve unlocked something offensively after four straight games with 120+ points, and there’s a big opportunity to keep the arrow pointing up tonight against the banged-up Philadelphia 76ers.
That starts with Franz Wagner delivering another masterpiece to punish a Philadelphia team that’ll be without athletic duo Kelly Oubre Jr. and V.J. Edgecombe, while Joel Embiid is listed as questionable.
We saw the blueprint for a Wagner takeover over the weekend against the New York Knicks, where he finished with a 37-6-7 stat line, and he’ll have ample opportunities here to nail this combo Over.
As a scorer, Wagner has bumped his 3-point mark up to 35% — not great, but an improvement on his last two seasons — and he’s getting to the line at an eye-popping rate, with 7+ free throws in nine of his past 10 games. The German also made eight of his 12 shots against the 76ers back in October.
Don’t sleep on Wagner’s rebounding, either. He’s on pace for a career-high with 6.4 RPG, and he’s grabbed 8+ boards in five of his last nine outings.
Without Banchero, Orlando needs Franz to bring his A-game at Xfinity Mobile Arena, and I see him answering the call.

Magic vs 76ers same-game parlay
If Wagner gets on a roll, the Magic will be well placed to cover this small spread, and the visitors are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 contests. Meanwhile, Philadelphia has dropped its last two home games by 10+ points, and Paul George remains on a minutes restriction.
Tyrese Maxey has kept the 76ers afloat during all the injury disruption, and his sharpshooting from downtown is a part of the formula for his 33 PPG, second-highest in the league. Maxey has been lights out from beyond the arc lately, with 20 triples across his last four contests, and I’m wagering on more fireworks here.
Magic vs 76ers SGP
- Franz Wagner Over 35.5 points + assists + rebounds
- Magic -3
- Tyrese Maxey Over 3.5 3-pointers
Our "from downtown" SGP: Assists for Anthony
Anthony Black is one of Orlando’s supporting cast members who can impact the team’s ceiling this year. He’s dished 4+ dimes in three straight games, and his length and playmaking can really hurt Philly’s second unit. One of the trickle-down effects of Banchero’s absence is also more minutes for Black as an extra ball-handler.
