Grizzlies vs Clippers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

Ja Morant is back for the Grizzlies, and Jaylen Wells won't suffer on the offensive front. Meanwhile, Clippers G James Harden is questionable and might not be 100% if he does play. Take Memphis against the spread.

Memphis Grizzlies’ leading scorer Ja Morant will be playing his second game back, but big man Zach Edey won't be available.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers might not have leading scorer James Harden, who was a surprise addition to the injury report.

Our Grizzlies vs. Clippers predictions and free NBA picks look for Memphis to get the road win and cover on Monday, December 15.

Grizzlies vs Clippers prediction

Grizzlies vs Clippers best bet: Grizzlies +4.5 (-110)

The Memphis Grizzlies have weathered the injury storm well, going 7-3 without Ja Morant. They lost their first game since his return, which Zach Edey missed with an ankle injury that will keep him out for a month.

The four-point home loss to Utah was just Memphis’ second this season to a team with a losing record, and the Grizzlies have covered five of their last seven and four of their last five on the road.

The Los Angeles Clippers are on a three-game losing streak and have lost eight of nine. The team just finished a five-game road trip, but the home floor hasn’t been much of a relief for L.A. this season, losing seven straight at the Intuit Dome.

Despite that, Los Angeles is a 4.5-point favorite against Memphis. It's failed to cover its last three as a favorite and is 1-6 ATS in its last seven in that position.

The cover will be even tougher for the Clippers tonight if James Harden is unavailable.

Harden is averaging 26.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 8.2 assists. He played 40 minutes against Houston, but apparently suffered a calf contusion in the game. He’s listed as questionable, although he reportedly wasn’t limited at Sunday’s practice.

Grizzlies vs Clippers same-game parlay

The Grizzlies play at the ninth-quickest pace in the league, but they’ll be facing a Clippers team that is 28th in tempo. L.A. has only had a total point Over/Under this high in four games this season and has cleared it just twice.

The Clips have gone Under in three of their last four, while the Grizzlies have done so in four of their last six.

Jaylen Wells stepped up his scoring in Morant’s absence, averaging 18.3 points in the last seven games Morant missed. For the season, he averages 10.8 with Morant in the lineup and 14.3 without him. He won’t necessarily lose opportunities with Morant back, however, and had 19 against Utah in the last game.

As Cedric Coward’s rookie season has gone on, he’s become more of a scoring option, which also makes him more dangerous as a passing threat. He’s averaging 2.8 assists per game, but in the last three outings, he’s dished out 14, while scoring in double figures each time.
