Clippers vs Knicks Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

The Clippers look much better than the team that started the season so dreadfully. Now, Kawhi Leonard & Co. face a struggling Knicks squad, and we like the plus-money value on the visitors to win straight up.

The New York Knicks will try to snap out of a season-worst four-game losing streak as they host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.

New York has struggled over the past two weeks, and I’m taking a hot Los Angeles squad to win outright in my Clippers vs. Knicks predictions.

Let’s take a closer look at this non-conference matchup in my free NBA picks for Wednesday, January 7.

Clippers vs Knicks prediction

Clippers vs Knicks best bet: Clippers moneyline (+155)

Whether it’s Josh Hart's absence or more fundamental issues coming to the forefront, the New York Knicks haven’t been the same team since late December.

The most obvious sign of this is the current four-game losing streak, of course, but it’s also noteworthy that they haven’t covered the spread since Christmas Day, going 0-6 ATS in their last six outings.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers are recovering from a dreadful start to the season, now having won seven of their last eight games. The last win came over the Golden State Warriors as an underdog, even without James Harden in the lineup, and the Clippers expect to have him back.

Over its last eight, Los Angeles has allowed 104.6 points per game, well below its season average of 114.2 PPG. That new defensive intensity will play well in New York, as the Knicks have struggled to score. So far in January, they’re averaging 102.7 PPG, and the defensive struggles date back even further, with six of their last seven opponents scoring more than 120 points.

Trends aren’t guarantees, but we’re looking at two teams heading in completely different directions right now. Even as an underdog, I like the Clippers to win this game outright, and I’m taking them on the moneyline to get some extra value.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
