Celtics vs Magic Props & Best Bets for Today

Paolo Banchero hasn't been shy from beyond the arc in this series, and with the Magic fighting tooth and nail to stay in this series, he may be more eager to put up shots in Game 4.

The Orlando Magic try to stay off the ropes when they host the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series tonight.

I run down the NBA player props markets looking for the edges in player performance with my best NBA picks for Celtics vs. Magic on April 27.

Best Celtics vs Magic props

Celtics vs Magic player props for April 27

Paolo Banchero Over 1.5 threes (-150 at bet365)

The Orlando Magic are sizable home underdogs and will likely be playing from behind on Sunday. That means the Magic need big buckets from their biggest star.

Paolo Banchero has been active from outside in this series, shooting a collective 8-for-17 from beyond the arc. He’s made at least two triples in those three games and has made two or more 3-pointers in 15 of his last 20 games overall going back to the regular season.

Player models all come in above the 1.5-triples total, with some projections as high as 2.2 made threes. If you shop across the industry, you’ll find the Over 1.5 threes priced as high as -166, but bet365 is offering a solid -150 return on Banchero cashing in twice from downtown.

Derrick White Points + Rebounds + Assists Over 24.5 (-115 at bet365)

Derrick White has stuffed the stat sheet in this series so far, averaging 21 points, four assists, and four rebounds.

With Jrue Holiday still sidelined with a hamstring injury, White absorbs more of the ball-handling duties on offense. That gives his potential assists a lift and spreads Holiday’s field goal attempts (9.2 per game) around, boosting White’s point production as well With Holiday out in Game 3, White scored 16 points, snatched three rebounds and dished out five dimes. I believe he can do even better tonight.

Game 4 player models sit at 25 combined stats for points + rebounds + assists, but the high side of these forecasts is just shy of 27. He’s gone Over the 24.5 O/U in all three games this series and averaged 27.5 points + rebounds + assists in the final 2.5 months of the regular season.

Franz Wagner Over 4.5 Assists (+130 at bet365)

Franz Wagner’s passing prowess has been on display in this series. He dished out eight assists in the Game 3 win and has recorded a total of 17 dimes in the three games with an average of 7.7 potential assists per outing.

His assists prop for Game 4 sits at 4.5 O/U with the Over paying +130 after an aggressive move across the market, shifting from the opener of 4.5 Over -105. With this prop now paying plus money, there’s value in buying back that adjustment.

It’s never good business to move against that early steam, but sharper books have bounced between 3.5 and 4.5 O/U, and Wagner really blossomed as a playmaker late in the schedule, having dished out 5+ assists in 11 of his final 17 regular-season games.

Wagner’s player projections range from 4.0 assists to 5.5 dimes, with my forecast at 4.7 helpers from Orlando’s big man. Given that number, the Over 4.5 assists result should sit at its original vig.
