The Boston Celtics will complete a weekend back-to-back when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Arena this afternoon.

Between Boston’s slow pace and Cleveland’s trend of playing in low-scoring games, I’m backing the Under in my Celtics vs. Cavaliers predictions.

Keep reading to see where I’m leaning with my free NBA picks for Sunday, November 30.

Celtics vs Cavaliers prediction

Celtics vs Cavaliers best bet: Under 230.5 (-110)

Despite their offensive firepower, the Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t been lighting up the scoreboard as of late. Before Friday’s 130-123 loss to the Hawks, Cleveland had hit the Under in six of their last seven games and hadn’t scored more than 120 points in a single game until that last contest.

That relative scoring outburst may have had something to do with the fact that the Cavaliers finally had all their key players healthy on Friday, but Jarrett Allen (14.3 ppg) is out again on Sunday, and Cleveland had trouble offensively in its first meeting with the Boston Celtics this year, scoring only 105 points in a loss last month.

There’s plenty of reason to think we won’t get the best offensive performance from Boston today, either. The Celtics are on the second game of a back-to-back, one that saw Jaylen Brown go hard for 39 minutes in a loss to the Timberwolves on Saturday.

Generally speaking, Boston doesn’t play high-scoring basketball: this is one of the slowest-paced teams in the NBA, and plays to an average total of just 225.5 ppg.

Throw all these factors together, and we could be in for a slow, defensive slog this evening. I’m taking the Under.

Celtics vs Cavaliers same-game parlay

Along with taking the Under, I’m also going to back Boston to cover for the second straight day, as they’ve performed well against the Cavaliers already this year, and Cleveland hasn’t found the magic that made them a regular-season juggernaut last season.

I’m also taking Celtics breakout center Neemias Queta to hit his points + rebounds total tonight, something he’s done in four of his last six games.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
