The Chicago White Sox have pushed the Chicago Cubs to the wire in both games of this series, and +134 is too generous a line on the live underdog to pass up. On the North Side, Pete Crow-Armstrong is scorching hot, already homering three times against the South Siders.
Both offenses are swinging hot bats into the crosstown finale, which shapes my White Sox vs. Cubs predictions, from the underdog moneyline to the Over and a red-hot Cub to go deep.

Who will win White Sox vs Cubs today: White Sox moneyline (+134)
The Chicago Cubs have taken the first two games of this series, but the gap between these teams is far smaller than the -155 price suggests, making the Chicago White Sox an appealing underdog.
Both games were decided in the Cubs’ final at-bat, with a 7-5 extra-innings loss on Monday and a 4-3 walk-off defeat on Tuesday after the South Siders led 3-2.
The White Sox also have a real path against Clay Holmes, sitting 6-4 over their last 10, and starter Sean Newcomb gives them a credible opening matchup, holding right-handed hitters to just a .194 average this season after tossing 2 1/3 hitless innings against Detroit on Sunday.
The Cubs deserve to be favored at Wrigley, but the White Sox have twice shown they can play them to the wire. At +134, that is enough margin to take the underdog rather than pay -155.
I’d play the White Sox to +120.

White Sox vs Cubs Over/Under pick: Over 8.5 (+109)
Both starters bring strong ERAs into the finale, but the offensive matchups and a hitter-friendly Wrigley make the Over the play at plus money. The Cubs have been baseball’s best offense against left-handed pitching, producing an .807 OPS, and they are even hotter lately, hitting .330 with a 1.000 OPS and six home runs over their last 10 games against southpaws. That is a brutal draw for the left-handed Newcomb.
The White Sox can contribute as well, with enough recent pop to get to Holmes or chase him early, into a Cubs bullpen that owns a 5.46 ERA over its last 10 games, and Jacob Webb already working in both games of the series.
Both offenses have the power to break a game open in a hurry, and at 8.5 and +109, a 5-4 final gets us home. I’d play the Over down to -105.
White Sox vs Cubs home run prediction: Pete Crow-Armstrong (+238)
Pete Crow-Armstrong is already terrorizing the White Sox in this series, and his power surge makes even +238 too enticing to pass up. Crow-Armstrong has gone deep three times through the first two games, including Monday’s walk-off, and he now has 31 home runs on the season, with five over his last 10 games.
The left-on-left matchup with Newcomb is less discouraging than it looks. Crow-Armstrong is hitting .305 with a .545 slugging mark and nine home runs in 183 plate appearances against lefties this year, and his contact quality is elite, headlined by a 12.6% barrel rate. He also has 22 homers against righties, so there is no easy platoon escape once Newcomb exits.
With the wind blowing out at Wrigley, I’ll back one of the game’s premier power bats in a matchup he has already dominated twice. I’d play this to +225 for a quarter unit.
- ML/RL bets: 2-2, -0.41 units
- Over/Under bets: 2-2, +0.1 units
White Sox vs Cubs weather
Wrigley Field is playing like a launching pad on Wednesday, with temperatures in the upper 70s and a steady 10 mph wind blowing out to right field. Those conditions add real carry and boost home run projections across the board, a direct tailwind for the Over and for Crow-Armstrong’s pull-side power.
