Starting pitchers
Martin Perez (6-4, 4.04 ERA): The veteran left-hander has had an up-and-down season in Boston, pitching to a 1.43 WHIP and an opponent batting average of .276 through 75 2-3 innings across 16 starts.
He's coming off a solid outing last Wednesday when he limited the Royals to two runs in 5 1-3 innings of work but also allowed seven hits.
Jose Suarez (3-1, 1.98 ERA): Suarez has just been promoted to the Angels rotation and will start his first game of the year after pitching 27 1-3 innings out of the bullpen.
He logged 5 1-3 innings against the Yankees last week when he replaced a heat-exhausted Dylan Bundy in the middle of the second inning and allowed just two hits and one earned run, picking up his third win of the season.

Moneyline pick
The Red Sox have won nine of their last 10 games to improve their record to 53-32 and give them a 4.5 game cushion atop the AL East.
The Angels have won six of their last seven contests to move one game above .500 but trail the Astros by nine games in the AL West. The Halos have been without Mike Trout for almost seven weeks, but the three-time AL MVP is swinging the bat again and could return to the lineup after the All-Star break.
Until then, they will need to keep being carried by the big bat and arm of Shohei Ohtani. Thanks in large part to Ohtani and his MLB-leading 31 home runs, the Angels are sixth in the majors with 4.95 runs per game while ranking fifth with an OPS of .758.
That said, pitching has been a major issue for the Angels and today they'll give Jose Suarez his first start of the year. The 23-year-old has thrown well out of the bullpen this year, pitching to a 1.10 WHIP and .210 batting average, but has struggled when previously inserted into the rotation, going 2-8 with a 7.92 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 17 career starts.
That's bad news against a loaded Boston lineup that ranks third in the majors in scoring (5.12) and OPS (.762). Boston will give the ball to Martin Perez and while the southpaw has been inconsistent this season, he's been solid on the road, going 3-1 with a 2.10 ERA and .214 OBA in six starts.
It's easy to see why this line is so close with both teams hitting very well and turning to a pair of shaky starters, but Suarez is simply a bit too unproven in that starter's role for us to back him here. With the Red Sox 12-4 in the last 16 meetings between these teams, including 5-1 in the last six games at Angel Stadium, back them again tonight.
PREDICTION: ML Boston (-110)
Over/Under pick
The Red Sox offense has been powered by Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts and J.D. Martinez who have been crushing the ball. They've been especially productive over the last 30 days, plating 5.44 runs per game.
That said, the Angels have been even better at the dish lately, averaging 5.88 runs per game with an OPS of .829 over the same 30-day span.
The Angels have been raking at home all season, averaging 5.56 runs per game with an OPS of .811. Unfortunately they also allow a whopping 5.0 runs per game at home thanks to some ugly pitching from their starters and relievers. That combination of high-scoring offense and poor pitching has made them an Over bettors' dream with the Halos going 20-6 O/U in their last 26 games.
