HR picks for May 24

Rafael Devers (+370 at DraftKings)

Rafael Devers had a huge day at the dish on Friday as the Red Sox hammered the Orioles 19-5, going 4-for-6 with two home runs and six RBI. The slugger is now up to 12 bombs on the year to go along with a .299 average, and I’m predicting him to go deep again on Saturday.

Devers has swung it very well against Zach Eflin, who Baltimore hands the ball to in today’s Game 1 of the doubleheader. He’s 7-for-19 lifetime with a pair of long balls against the right-hander. You also have to consider that Devers just had his best offensive showing of the season and will be coming in with major confidence.

Plus, 10 of his homers are off right-handed hurlers, and he’s hit nine bombs in day games. The writing is on the wall for Devers to go deep in back-to-back games.

Shohei Ohtani (+310 at DraftKings)

Shohei Ohtani continues to show why he’s one of the best players to ever live. The Japanese superstar is hitting .302 with 17 home runs and 31 RBI. He’s tied for the league lead in bombs and has gone deep four times in his last eight contests. There’s reason to believe he could do so again tonight.

The Mets send David Peterson to the hill, and although Ohtani hasn’t taken him yard before, he’s 5-for-10 lifetime against the left-hander. Ohtani is also hitting .364 against lefties, which is impressive in itself. Again, only two bombs have come off southpaws, but that doesn’t mean he can’t connect on one enough to leave the ballpark.

Ohtani has gone three games without a home run, too. That feels like long enough for someone of his caliber. I could see him smacking No. 18 tonight.

Aaron Judge (+120 at DraftKings)

The odds say it all. Rarely do you see any player at +120 to hit a home run, but we’re talking about the reigning AL MVP, who's batting .398 with 17 home runs and 45 RBI. While the Yankees surprisingly lost to the Rockies on Friday evening, Judge went 2-for-4 with a long ball, tying him for the MLB lead.

Judge gets another chance to take advantage of the Mile High City elevation tonight and will face the struggling Kyle Freeland. He’s 1-for-5 against him with a homer in his career, and the lefty has allowed four bombs this season. His ERA is sitting at 5.68, too.

He has two homers in his last four contests and comes into this one red-hot.

  1. Cody Bellinger, Yankees (+500)
  2. Gunnar Henderson, Orioles (+425)
  3. Aaron Judge, Yankees (+120)
  4. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Blue Jays (+400)
  5. Trent Grisham, Yankees (+500)
