The Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants wrap up a three-game set this afternoon at Oracle Park.
It’s Shota Imanaga vs. Logan Webb on the mound, and I’ll explain in my Cubs vs. Giants predictions why I see value in the Under with a pair of studs facing off.

Cubs vs Giants prediction
Cubs vs Giants best bet: Under 7 (+100)
Wednesday’s contest was a high-scoring one, with the San Francisco Giants securing a 12-3 victory as they lit up Colin Rea. But today, it’s definitely a pitchers’ duel. Both Shota Imanaga and Logan Webb are having spectacular seasons for their respective teams.
Imanaga has an 8-6 record and 3.03 ERA this year, and he’s compiled a 2.33 ERA in August. The Japanese left-hander hasn’t given up more than three earned runs in a single start this month.
Imanaga is typically lights out for the Chicago Cubs, and he was dominant when last seen, only allowing two earned across seven frames versus the Brewers.
As for Webb, he’s also throwing the ball extremely well. The right-hander is 12-9 with a 3.13 ERA.
His ERA lowers to 2.77 at home, and Webb has allowed a mere one earned run across his last two appearances.
The total may be low here, but I don’t see a lot of runs being scored. Both guys will do their thing on the bump.
Cubs vs Giants same-game parlay (SGP)
Webb has always been a strikeout pitcher, and 2025 has been no different. He’s racked up 180 Ks in 166 2/3 innings of work. At home, Webb has struck out 94 in 87 2/3 frames.
The veteran has cashed the Over in punchouts in three of his last five outings, and two of them were at Oracle Park.
While there aren't many hitters in this Cubs lineup who have had success against Webb, Ian Happ is one of them. The 31-year-old is 4-for-11 lifetime with a pair of doubles and a home run.
