The Toronto Blue Jays and Athletics combined for 11 runs on Monday, and I’m predicting a similarly high-scoring game tonight with Jack Perkins starting for the Athletics.
Perkins ranks in the sixth percentile in pitching run value with a 6.50 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, while posting a massive 8.86 ERA over his last five starts.
Perkins pitched beyond the fifth inning just once during that stretch, and he’ll hand the ball off to the worst bullpen in the majors, which owns a collective 5.43 ERA.
After a solid start to his tenure with the Toronto Blue Jays, Jose Soriano has also hit a rough patch. The right-hander carries a 4.76 ERA over his last five starts.
