Tropicana Atlantic City announced the construction of a new hotel tower, Solana, with groundbreaking in late 2025 and a January 2026 launch.

The Solana Tower project is significant milestone for Tropicana's ongoing efforts to modernize and improve its product offering within Atlantic City's competitive gaming and hospitality market.

Key takeaways

  • Tropicana Atlantic City will open its new 604-room Solana Tower hotel in January 2026.
  • Inspired by Palm Walk, the tower enhances Tropicana’s coastal charm and vintage Atlantic City appeal.
  • The tower features tropical-themed décor, soft wood tones, and curated artwork.

The project launches following Labor Day on Sept. 1, 2025. Tropicana's management reaffirmed the estimated completion and public opening as early as January 2026. Expansion and renovation are part of a larger strategy to solidify the property's appeal to new and returning visitors alike.

The Solana Tower will boast 604 redesigned hotel rooms and suites. The redesign is coastal in concept, reflecting themes that transport visitors back to Atlantic City's days of yore with the addition of contemporary tropical flair.

“We are thrilled to offer our guests a new, elevated hospitality experience with the addition of Solana Tower,” said Joe Giunta, senior vice president & general manager for Tropicana. “Bright, breezy and brimming with character—these room enhancements blend playful coastal charm with a nod to vintage Atlantic City. The new rooms offer a vibrant, welcoming escape that’s as fun as it is approachable.”

The Solana Tower announcement follows recent efforts to enhance the resort's gaming capacity. Caesars Entertainment opened its initial branded live dealer studio within the Tropicana Atlantic City property on April 2, 2025.

The studio provides live dealer games under the Caesars Palace Online Casino, Horseshoe Online Casino, and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino brands. The expansion grew the resort's online presence and provided an enhanced gaming experience that integrates on-site and online play.

Atlantic City reinvents itself

The Solana Tower opening is part of a broader trend in Atlantic City casino investments in real estate rehabilitation and hospitality improvements to maintain viability in a saturated regional market. Solana will likely be a flagship component of Tropicana's future hotel accommodation strategy.

Through thematic tower design coordination with present property amenities like Palm Walk and the focus on delivering a distinctive guest experience, Tropicana Atlantic City is setting itself up to compete more aggressively with local and regional resort holiday destinations. The Solana Tower investment demonstrates a concern to preserve the resort's heritage character and adopt a vision-casting hospitality design philosophy.

In revenue terms, the Tropicana Atlantic City's new additions will surely boost its quarterly revenue output. A.C. casinos didn’t experience a positive fourth quarter in April, with income declining from $744.7 million to $675.1 million, a 9.3% decrease. Tropicana also experienced an 11.5% profit drop, with only Hard Rock and Caesars seeing revenue increases.
