The Empire State enjoyed its largest legal sports betting mobile handle of the month during the week that ended April 23, and represented a strong bounce back.

New York Gaming Commission reported that the state took in $371.3 million in mobile wagers that week, which was up from the $321.3 million in the previous week.

The week that ended April 23 wasn’t a better one for sports bettors, as a hold of 13% for the sportsbooks was sustained for the second consecutive week.

The $45 million in gross gaming revenue for the week was also a monthly high for the Empire State.

New York has accumulated a little over $1 billion in mobile wagers over the last three weeks and is on pace to fall below March’s handle of $1.79 billion, which was largely fueled by college basketball.

FanDuel bests DraftKings in mobile battle

Sports bettors fared better against FanDuel, tops among the online betting sites in New York, compared to last week. While the handle jumped $14 million to $150.4, the revenue fell $1.4 million week-over-week to $20.7 million.

DraftKings recorded the second-highest mobile handle of the week at $129.2 with a GGR of $15.9 million, both monthly highs. It was the second consecutive week of over $14 million in revenue for the mobile operator.

It was also a good week for Caesars, which produced its best mobile revenue of April at $4.9 million on a handle of $47.1 million.

BetMGM finished fourth among the nine New York sports betting mobile operators with a handle of $24.8 million. Revenue, however, fell from $2.7 million the previous week to $1.9 million the week of April 23.
