New York’s sports betting was down during Week 3 of the NFL season from the previous period’s massive wagering.

The New York State Gaming Commission reported on Thursday that the Empire State’s eight online sportsbooks generated $573.4 million during the week ending Sept. 27, a 6.2% decline from $611.1 million.
The betting week, highlighted by a full slate of pro and college football action, as well as the end of the MLB regular season, was up 2.7% from the NFL’s Week 3 last year.
The Bills, Jets, and Giants all covered the spread on Sunday, but eight total underdogs did as well.
Popular prediction market operators Kalshi and Polymarket experienced week-over-week notional trading volume increases last Sunday across the U.S. New York’s commission does not break down sports betting by the day.
Revenue rises
Meanwhile, New York online sports betting produced an 8.5% hold, up over two points from the previous week, which led to $48.6 million in gross revenue. Coming off two lackluster weeks, revenue was up 26.2%, and it’s the most mobile sportsbooks have hauled in since the last week of the World Cup in July.
Online operators surpassed $40 million in gross revenue for the fourth time in the last 10 weeks, and the $104 million over the first three weeks of the NFL season is down 28% from the same period last year.

Total domination
FanDuel dominated the betting landscape during the week ending Sept. 27, producing $221.3 million in dollars wagered. The latest reported week is the third consecutive that New York’s top sportsbook has surpassed $200 million in handle and the first time in 2026.
FanDuel’s 9.1% hold produced $20.1 million, the best gross revenue haul since July.
DraftKings held onto 9.2% of a $196.2 million handle. The online sportsbook’s $18.1 million in gross revenue was a nearly $4 million increase from the previous week.
Just two in double digits
Fanatics finished third for the week ending Sept. 27 in handle with nearly $65 million in wagers, but the sportsbook’s hold was under 7%. BetMGM kept 8.4% of a $33.5 million handle, while Caesars had the lowest hold (3.5%) of any New York operator for the week.
TheScore Bet’s 11.2% win rate on $6.4 million in wagers was the second-highest hold, trailing only Bally Bet’s 11.7% on a $3.2 million handle. BetRivers kept a modest 8.1% of a $10.3 million handle.
