BetMGM to lead Century Casinos sports betting in Missouri
On the operational and regulatory front, BetMGM, the joint venture of MGM Resorts International and Entain, also advanced its strategic position with access to the online Missouri sports betting market. A new agreement with Century Casinos lets BetMGM operate online and mobile sports betting under Century's state-issued licenses.
The deal also allows BetMGM to build retail sportsbook locations at Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau and Century Casino Caruthersville.
The deal was finalized under Century's subsidiary operations in Cape Girardeau and signed as a long-term deal. Under the agreement, BetMGM runs the digital sportsbook business in Missouri while giving up some of its net gaming revenue to Century Casinos.
Century Casinos can still construct conventional brick-and-mortar sportsbooks at its two Missouri casinos. These retail locations would be physical counterparts to the online platform, raising brand awareness and giving customers multiple entry points to BetMGM products.
The Missouri Gaming Commission mandated all sportsbook operators obtain proper licenses before staring operations. BetMGM needs final regulatory approval.
