The PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs conclude this week with the Tour Championship at storied East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
There’s a clear favorite in the Tour Championship odds, with Scottie Scheffler atop the board of 30 players. Even with Scheffler in peak form, I’m looking past the World No. 1 with my top sleeper and longshot golf picks for this week’s action at East Lake.
Tour Championship sleeper picks
- Burns (+3000)
- Morikawa (+3000)
- Griffin (+3500)

Tour Championship sleeper predictions
Sleeper pick to win: Sam Burns
+3000 at FanDuel
Look for the momentum of a solid T4 in the BMW Championship to parlay into another strong week at the Tour Championship for Sam Burns.
He carded a T12 while ranking ninth in true strokes gained tee-to-green and second on approaches here last year, and he’s also gained true strokes on approaches and on the greens in consecutive events to rank 12th and first in this field in the metrics.
Sleeper pick to win: Collin Morikawa
+3000 at FanDuel
While there’s no way to sugarcoat the string of poor finishes from Collin Morikawa, it’s built into the price we’re landing for the proven winner.
He finished second in the Tour Championship last year, and his ball-striking is also trending in the right direction. He’s gained true strokes on approaches in consecutive events to rank second in this field in the metric.
Sleeper pick to win: Ben Griffin
+3500 at Caesars
Gutsy is the only way to describe Ben Griffin’s final round in the BMW Championship last week. He turned a miserable start — six over after three holes — into a -1 finish and carded a respectable T12 for the week.
Griffin also checks all the boxes ahead of his first trip to East Lake, and the reliance he showed this Sunday serves as a springboard for another showing in the Tour Championship.
Plus, he ranks seventh in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and fourth in putting across 11 events dating back to the PGA Championship.
