I hear what AUSSIE says about "must not play PHO unders" and I had to laugh. Because I should be heading the same advice but am giving it one more shot. (That and DO NOT PLAY DREAM SPREAD EVER)
I have been at The Garden watching the Libs and really it seems that these girls get real tired second half. Every game (3) I have gone to. I can see a big 1H but then I see them both wilting again in the second. I mean the CHI-NYL match was a definite over and then the 2H just killed it and it ended at 159. And with EDD going off and having a defensively challenged CHI squad that scores points getting only 79...well I like the under here and it is a massive arena where Overs do tend to go to die.

Also the ONLY game at MSG that remotely went over this number is the DAL game and that is one team that plays NO defense and has an offense. This is like 10 games where 2 went to OT and not remotely hit the 166.5. I might sprinkle a bit more on this after looking it over. Also a day game yada yada yada.

I wish you all the luck Joe on that under mate. You got some big balls to play that. I hope your right and I hope the Liberty take charge of this game.
Phoenix Mercury @ New York Liberty: Liberty -3.5
The Mercury finish up this road trip in one of the hardest places in the league IMHO. One of the biggest defenses in the league. The Mercury only know one thing, run and gun. Taurasi is expected to do everything on the court for this team and they don't play team ball. They face a MVP candidate on her home floor. Tina Charles has been ripping apart teams but so has her TEAM. They are all stepping up. Rebecca Allen is finally back for the Liberty and she played some good mins the other day. The Mercury come out hot against the Mystics but they are ranked towards the bottom of the league in defense and were a very poor match-up for the Mercury and that has now been shown twice this season with Phoenix beating the Mystics easily twice now. The Liberty on the other hand are a disastrous match-up for Mercury. Swords will take care of BG, being 6'6 she is one of the tallest gals to go up against BG and we all have seen what Fowles did to BG. I expect the same from Swords. No one in the Mercury side will be able to stop Charles. The only issue the Liberty may have is guarding DT but I will take my chances on Rodgers and Wright. Swin Cash is playing hard ball as well. This Liberty starting 5 is very experienced and talented. But their bench is tall and deep as well. The Mercury lost Noelle Quinn (wasn't very efficient anyways) and acquire Kelsey Bone and Lindsay Harding just the other day. Harding was ok the other day vs the Mystics. Her job is to give DT some time to rest on the bench and give some form of D. But i don't think she will be very good against this Liberty team.
The Liberty are the league's 2nd best at defending the 3 ball, allowing just 27% from behind the line. Mercury on the other hand the leagues worst allowing 38%. Liberty, 2nd best in the league for landing 3's hitting around 37.5%. Its not only that, its the inside paint presence the Liberty is going to have a long with the league's best defense in FG% allowing just 39% from the field. Gotta say, I think Liberty takes this game by 8-12 points...

Phoenix +3.5. This number seems smaller than it should be. Phoenix are not a good road team, and usually don't even keep it close. I would have guessed a number around 6 or 7 for this game. Not only did it come out smaller than that, but it's actually been dropping. Sometimes I just gotta trust that the people with the money know more than I do, and it appears the money is on the Merc today.

The X factor for me is will the sun remember they have a recent rookie of the year in chiney Ogwimuke who im not sure if the achilles from last year or what. But she usually plays well agains her sister. This league flies comercial and the turnaround and the emotional letdown is enough for the cover as to why the Sun +16

Too many points for this game. LA played well on the road and the 2nd unit for CONN should out play LA. At the end of the game when the starters are sitting, the 2nd unit will cover the spread.
