So, in layman's terms, he lost $100 on Seattle, was down to $45, and now rallied back to $180? Big whoop. Sure, nice to get hot, and very nice to dig out of the hole. We've all been there.
He still has a NEGATIVE monthly income. NEG-A-TIVE!! So reversing the downswing of one bad bet is hardly even noteworthy, let alone indicative of any long term trend in his results.
The bottom line is this. His bankroll (and include the rest of the 401k if you want) is really just one or two SMALL losing streaks away from being GONE. Eventually, there won't be any scraps left to try and rebuild from. Not to mention, football is almost over, and I haven't seen anything different in the way CG is wagering and/or behaving that leads me to believe he will suddenly become profitable in basketball. Can he tread water and/or eek out a small profit, sure, but that's not going to cut it come March bill paying time.
I mean, a DAY of ubering is barely going to cover a 1-1 or 2-2 day.
And even IF he addresses and attempts to fix all the reasons he is failing, that still doesn't guarantee any long term success.
No long term plan, heII, no real short term plan either, outside of what's happening that day.
Bets nearly EVERY prime-time football game. Obviously betting for action the way his game times are spread out.
RARELY capping games and getting good lines early the week, usually it's the BLIT day of, if he's lucky.
Has never laid out a plan/goal on what he wants to make per week/month and then figured out how much his per game bet should be to attain it.
Constantly, constantly, constantly, whining and crying when he loses, and really playing the victim card a TON. That's a HORRIBLE mindset for a gambler.
Obviously making decisions on what to do under the influence of alcohol and probably other $hit sometimes too.
WAAAAAAY too emotional about his plays, before, during and after. WAAAAAY too easily tilted.
WAAAAAY too concerned with things like sharp/square/public/etc. You don't TRY to be sharp, you either are, or you're not. (I'm not for the record, and neither are MOST on covers, so it's not a knock to be considered a square).
I'm sure I am missing plenty.
I bet casually, for low stakes. I love sports wagering, always have. I know how tough it is for a normal bettor to turn profits long term. Especially with a job/family/etc. I chase bets sometimes. Sometimes I bet the same amount late in the day on a game, that I did on a game I loved all week. I definitely have done STUPID things after a few too many drinks. I know I'm a square and 100% amateur, so I can spot all those attributes from a mile away.
