guys it sounds like multiple myeloma which is basically the worst of all blood cancers.  a friend of mine had it (now in remission) and I know this sounds extremely ridiculous but he tried chemo and radiation for several months and finally heard about apricot seeds and the B-17 found in them helping to fight cancer.  He ate like 24 Apricot seeds a day (Obviously in conjunction with radiation and chemo) and almost immediately started seeing results.  Now I know it could have been a number of things that helped him but you never know, at this point I would try anything. 

 

BTW, the doctor still gives him a very slim chance to live past 5-8 years but he is fighting it with everything he has.

     I'm sorry to hear about your condition. I wish their was something to say or do to change it for you but as we both know that isn't possiable.  I read all  the posts and their is alot of great messages so with out being redundent I hope the best for you and your family. If you can use covers to  bring a smile to your face even if it is just for a fleeting moment then I think we would all like you to keep us updated

linemover, can't even begin to imagine what you and your loved ones are going through and no one in this world deserves shit like that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

 

As mentioned by a few posts above, I agree that you fight and fight like a mofo. You have nothing to lose and all to gain. I had a good friend of mine who passed on because of breast cancer. She felt very defeated when going through treatment for something she thought was a lost cause. Although, she did not beat it, one thing I encouraged her and to you is that even though you may not beat it, but if the cancer researchers and labs learn at least one inkling of information or data that would help beat cancer, then her treatments and experiences makes it all worthwile. Who knows, maybe here treatments will be the first step for finding a cure.

 

Btw, she received treatment from Dana Farber and from what I saw and heard, that place is 1st class in knowledge and customer service to patients and families.

And ESPN has been so kind to support me in this endeavor and allow me to announce tonight, that with ESPN's support, which means what? Their money and their dollars and they're helping me -- we are starting the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research. And its motto is "Don't give up, don't ever give up."
