The injury is a psaos muscle strain, essentially a groin pull, and will make extension and flexing quite uncomfortable and limited. Her body is breaking down this late in her career and she was lucky to escape versus an inexperienced opponent. Petkovic will take advantage of the situation and exploit Venus' movement, forcing the American to play quicker points and come to the net, taking Venus away from her strong baseline play. She hasn't retired in a match in over 10 years so she'll play it out until she's eliminated.

Schiavone's had an amazing upswing in the last year and a half, especially this late in her career, jumping into the top 10 with a grinding style of play. She picked up a groin injury at the Hopman's Cup and has been battling it while losing or being pushed to the brink by lesser opponents. The Italian already has two 3 set matches to start the tournament, showing signs of the lingering injury and being unable to play up to her standards. Ripe for an upset.

I think this is a much easier opponent for Frannie... Marino had the weapons to hurt Frannie... she had a big 1st serve and had a big forehand.
Monica has no weapons...she uses a smoke/mirrors brand of tennis where she moon balls-slices and tries to dice her opponent. It was a perfect strategy for ball bashers and mental midgets like Timea and Pironkova... but i don't think it will work versus Frannie.

1* Peng/Radwanksa over 21 +100 Aggy's return from injury has been solid after a sputtering first round vs Krumm although I have a few concerns over her match fitness level. Peng had a few cramping issues vs Morita but managed to pull through in the last round as well. Peng's a tenacious fighter as evident by her four comeback victories this year after being down a set and more. She's also found a streak of great form to open 2011 and might be blossoming later in her career like fellow countrywoman Na Li. h2h is 2-1 for Radwanksa with all the matches finishing in 3 sets and I believe we'll see another one today.

He's coming off a long 5 setter vs Isner but should recover quite quickly as shown by last year's run at this event and his commitment to fitness training. The victory over Isner should be a big confidence boost for Cilic and he'll need to ride his huge serve and overpowering groundstrokes for the upset chance.

She's extremely consistent, with fantastic movement and defense, and she's a pusher so she'll only tire the Italian out further with long rallies. Question you have to ask yourself is this... why would Nadal tell the world he isn't right? Makes no sense to me for him to advertise this and give his opponents more hope and confidence.
He was jaded leading into the French and didn't disclose it until after. Part of me says this is a bluff. He knows how close he is to history and isn't afraid to pull out all of the stops to make it happen.... if not he and is camp are stupid.
The night match should favor Nadal...conditions should be slower and the temperature cooler.
