It's kind of surprising how many matches there are that are close to pick ems.
On day 2 Ostapenko has that little slicing and dicing Japanese girl Aoi Ito. At first glance seems like a bad matchup for Osta. That girl gets every ball back in play and has such a unique playing style utilizing every type of spin imaginable. If Ostapenko's head is there and her game is on maybe she'll power through Ito. That's a big maybe though. It could easily turn into a massive unforced error fest for Osta.

I don't know if I can recommend Lulu Sun given her recent form but I will point out that Samsonova has a career losing record against lefties. And 2-5 record over the past 12 months. Her last match against a southpaw was the AO loss to Danilovic where she managed to win a grand total of 3 games. Don't remember the moneyline on that one but I know Danilovic 2-0 paid out +500.

Dang Gabriella Ruse screwed me. I had Sakkari 3rd set spread -2.5 and Sakkari 6-0. Ruse was down 0-4 and serving at 30-30. Then she hits a routine unforced error into the net to bring up break point and immediately retires. I know she was hurting because her play indicated that (which is why I bet it) but no way she retires there if she won the point.

Just saw this but I don't have any opinion either way. I like to watch Avanesyan play a match or two before I back her because she can be quite unpredictable at times.
