how can you not like isner here? davy looked awful for 85% of the match vs cilic and cilic looked awful for 95% of the match....isner handled Kohl pretty nicely and served well.
id much rather get +140 on isner than lay -160 on davy
thoughts?

Davy has the type of game that could give John fits... Davy normally gets lots of balls in play and you have to like Davy'd chances in most rallies. But I don't bet Davy unless he is a dog

dayvdenko must defend his title next week in shanghai. like i said is a very good player he can win this game, but with this situation i think isner will win.

I do not think Davydenko's return game is anywhere near where it was last year. That and his WTA second serve are two major issues for him since coming back.
If we go off the form of Isner this week he can be counted on to serve over 70%. He is very hard to break if he does that, almost impossible. He has had a good winning % behind second ball too, so he is rallying well enough.
I remember betting on Davydenko at -330 or so HUGE to beat Karlovic earlier this year. That was when Davydenko was in his awesome form of his life btw. They went to two tiebreaks and Davydenko won both of them, but in each one Karlovic took a minibreak lead before choking and coughing it back up. If this lesser version of Davydenko gets in the same situation with Isner, I do not think Isner would relinquish his lead.
These courts take to John's serve very well. a ton of aces all week. 20 in his last match.
Davydenko is not as solid on serve as he used to be. The second serve is now a huge weakness, especially vs anyone with a big forehand, as John certainly possesses. Davydenko can be his own worst enemy and has throwaway service games where he basically breaks himself due to momentary lacks of focus and concentration. When he plays guys like Cilic who have the same issue, or Ferrer who is also not a strong server, then he can win, but when he plays guys who are strong on serve these throwaway service chokes murder him every single time.
One unit on Isner and no regrets no matter what happens. Davydenko showed me something vs Cilic that second set, or I would go bigger. But I am still far from convinced and John is so damn good at what he does he could even beat Peak Davydenko (who as mentioned was pushed hard by Karlovic this year), on the very off chance that version shows up at all.

50/50 match. Isner's serve here is unreturnable and I cant see him getting broken, but Davydenko wants to do well here and on his day can beat anyone. I couldnt split the two, so its over 23.5 games for me.

I can't believe I'm going to put money on Davydenko. In almost ALL cases I like to avoid him like the plague.
But the fact that he is NOT a big favorite gives me a little hope that he won't throw the match, which I suspect he does from time to time when he's a huge favorite.
If he can get past that 1st serve of Isner's he could put the big guy on the ropes.
Anyway: Davydenko/Djokovic parlay (small)

I never bet on Davy, simply because I think he's betting himself. With Isner I only like his serve, he's a mistake waiting to happen in rallies. No play here.

you bet roddick to win second set (fantastic effort for him to win that for you, but i feel like your bet anticipated him maxing out like that) then monfils for the match at plus money in the third set. then you knew to tail me on this one.
i dont know if it is the alcohol talking but you seem like a very smart person and i hope you stick around, stay confident in your beliefs, disagree with me once in awhile when youre not feeling me and contribute in general because we need more like you around here, and you might help me make money over time. gl in the future bud. stay smart.

yeah good call winter that might hve been a facotr. we will see what davy is worth next week. i still remember last year when i bet davydenko to beat rafa 2-0 in the shanghai final HUGE and he cashed easy (was -130 for the match). one of my best tennis memories. i hope he shows something next week just like you, i am a huge fan of him and desperately want him to come back. i bet against him tonight but my new, lesser perception of him is far from set in stone.
