First off id like to say hello as i am new to covers
 
Next id like to say that these are not my plays just thought it would be fun to try this for a few weeks and see what happens
 
Im going to be simulating the weeks NFL games on my playstation then ill post the score, then post"maddenspicks" based on the pointspread
 
Just thought this would be fun and ill keep track of the Wins and Losses as well as the units

I hope your "simulation" is correct.  I took
 
PIT -5.5 @ -111 at Pinny yesterday.

How long does it take to simulate 1 game?
 
I haven't seen the game in years but I remember you could simulate the whole week's schedule in 10 seconds.
 
I know you are doing it to see how it goes.
Just an idea because the 1 game sample size is too small.
 
if you simulated say 10 times and see if many of the scores/results are similar then that could be real interesting.
Then you could take the average.
Ex if you simulted the game a 2nd time what is the difference from the 1st simulation and so on.

Also, are you gonna correct the rosters to reflect changes in personnel as the season goes on?

it takes about 25 minutes to simulate a game, this week i just set the game up and let the match play out.. but i like ur idea with sim the game multiple times and take the average... might try that next week

Denver- 3 vs Cincinnati-14 -- Cincinnati -4
Vikings-0 vs Browns- 17 -- Browns+3.5
Jacksonville- 7 vs Colts- 24 -- Colts -7
Detroit- 13 vs Saints- 13 -- Detroit+13
Dallas-10 vs Tampa Bay- 9 -- Tampa Bay +6

That 1st sim on the Sunday games is hilarious. Browns 17-Vikings 0?? That would be a SHOCKER!!!
 
Detroit vs NO ending in a 13-13 tie?
 
Probably more proof for you to go ahead and run the sim more than 1 time.

I predict u will go 2-6 on those "simulated" games..

The only way u can do a simulation test is to run the same game multiple times. I.E. minimum 1000, preferably 10,000.

I am playing a season in Maddon 2010 for my PS3 (great game btw, lotsa fun!) and some of the scores are really whack..

The New Orleans game will be more like 41-10..

Yea some of the scores might be a little off, i dont see the vikings getting shut out by the browns either..

ok so this pretty much got crushed this week had a lot of the underdogs on sunday and most of them were close but just couldnt hang on down the stretch....
 
and forgot to do the sunday night game.. prolly would of had the bears though haha

ok now for the monday night games... i ran the SD vs OAK game 10 times and the average score was
 
SD- 19.8 OAK- 19.7
 
I ran the BUFF vs NE game 20 time because after i ran it 10 times NE average score was 9.5 higher than BUFF
 
after 20 times NE score was 11.8 higher
 
BUFF- 17.1 NE- 28.9.

25 mins to sim a game?  i can sim a whole season in like 5 mins...its pretty easy, but about the same odds of flipping a coin...

well last week i set the game up as if i was going to play and just let the computer play as both teams....
 
this week (week 2) i did a complete week sim, which takes about 20 seconds.. i did this 10 times, i wrote down all the scores and took the average, check out madden system week 2 thread
