There is a poster in one of these forums who says that you can take all MLB dogs (every dog every day) and you will come out up money. Any truth to this? Any experience with this?

Yeah I see Scorpio is doing this over in the Baseball Forum.. it is an interesting experiment he is running..
facts are this type of System will go broke over the long haul.. but on a short time frame there is a good chance it will turn a profit. I think he is doing it for 60 days.. He needs a good start the first few days, otherwise it's an easy busto. But if it shows a ++ over this weekend, then it will probably hold up through the 2 months.
The beginning is the key in my opinion.

stats don't lie..HD cashed 49% last year alone, and are paced at 48.6% for the 09' season, which makes it a 'spot' play..I can't agree with taking a dog, only because it's a dog..dahhh...disciplined, or 'blind' handicapping does not work, never has, and most likely never will, there are no known formulas, or stats to show an advantage, but their are many that indicate Loss....Only problem with home dog dependentcy, they are few, and far in between..You get apx 600 / 3000 ratio

As much as I denounce the blind betting of all dogs, one year I tried betting them the first month of baseball and had some good results. If there is a terrible team from the previous year that comes out and plays well the first month of the next season, they clean up as dogs.
For example, Kansas City this year. Had you bet them anytime they were a dog in April, you would have made some good money.
It works the opposite way as well...i.e.- Good teams from previous year that are constantly favored, but do horrible the first month. For example, betting against the Devil Rays
