I've been at this for some time now (more than some and less than others certainly). One thing hit me today that I guess I hadn't thought of before.
As my time at this has progressed my methods of betting and who I bet on has become ever more sophisticated. All the while I keep thinking to myself I'm somehow gaining an advantage over the books and in the end come out a winner (which generally has been true in the last year). What hit me is that while everything I have at my disposal is also at the oddsmakers too. Whatever I know they could just as well know it too. While I'm sure some of the stuff that matters to me they don't really care about I just found this interesting to actually consider.
LVSC (las vegas sports consultants) are often the 1st to set the lines used by most brick and morter sportsbooks in Vegas. They has some of the most elaborate data on players, teams, etc. that will ever be found. Talk about a bunch of smart folks!
I guess I write all this to remind myself and everyone that each day you take some of the books money you should at least give yourself a small pat on the back. Likewise, each day they take a little of yours you shouldn't be all to hard on yourself. This marathon (and it certainly is that) is long and you want to be a winner at the end - that is a goal we all share in this process.
Best of luck...today...tomorrow...and for the remainder of the race!
